As a lover of Asian food, I often become sad in the Bend area because restaurant choices are sparse compared to places with a bigger Asian population. Also, I'm usually disappointed by the Asian food that exists here. However, Double Happiness is an exception. In a West Coast metro area, it would not stand out so much other than being another yummy family-owned Chinese restaurant. But in Bend, it's more rare to find authentic Asian food, and I would say this place is pretty legitimate. They offer an extensive menu of favorite items at Chinese restaurants as well as their own specials. My partner and I tried the mother's chicken, which was typical and on par with other restaurants. However, I was highly impressed by the extremely addictive beef fried rice. Fried rice is a comfort food for me and I'm always happy to find a great one. The menus say that they do not use MSG, but fortunately they still offer a lot of flavor. Service was fast and the place was fairly clean. This will be a go-to spot for me in Bend.

Our food was overcooked and was not very good. For $60 we expected better than what we got
We will not be going there again.

Not sure if it was just an off day, but the food was terrible. We tried each dish and only took a couple of bites. The food both smelled and tasted like burnt oil and smoke and all of our vegetarian dishes tasted like fish. Overpriced to begin with and given the quality of food, the prices are laughable.
Vegetarian options: All vegetarian dishes tasted like fish- seems like all food is cooked in the same pans so nothing is actually vegetarian

Double happiness has been something I've been procrastinating to try. If anyone knows Bend, Oregon it's to stay away from most food places cause to be honest.. it's not great. BUT! Double happiness is super yummy. Savory and sweet. We got a beef low mein and potstickers.
The cost was pretty hefty UNTIL you see the PORTIONS. the potstickers are huge. The low mein was bulky. All nice and hot. Juicy. Yum!

Replaced our order we wanted it to go but there was an absorbent large extra large delivery fee which we felt was way out of line

$20 a plate for some rice and a few pieces of chicken is way overpriced. Should be $8 a plate. Even then I would be surprised.

The food was over cooked and dry, my food was tasteless aswell. It was atleast done fast but it sucked otherwise.
The food was over-priced, honestly it was way too much food for how low quality it was. I assume the large portion size is to make up for how terrible the food was!!!
I am never ordering the peanut chicken here again as it was awful texture and taste wise. I hope the quality improves in due time as I wished to vomit after ingesting it.

My family and I recently went to this restaurant. The quality of the food was lacking. The chicken and rice were both dry. We each only ate about 2-3 bites of food before asking for the check and we did not take the vast majority of the food home. The staff did not offer to comp the meal. Very disappointing. We will not be going back and do not recommend this place.

I was so disappointed with this Chinese food. I paid $21 for the Mixed entrees. It tasted like something you would get from Safeway and heat up. The paper wrapped chicken tasted horrible and vinegary. The shrimp was very old and overcooked. The crab wontons had very little stuffing inside of them at all. I will never go back there again. It was probably one of the worst meals I've had in a very long time. Don't know how they can call theirselves Double Happiness when I wasn't even happy once with their food.
