Had a date night with my boyfriend, both felt unsatisfied & that we wasted $65. The food had no flavor, the first drink I was given was tainted with a green color & completely flat (a sprite??). Ordered a drink, the shot glasses looked old and dusty. I dont think we will ever be going back. 0/10

I ordered a number one. Chow mein shrimp and sweet and sour chicken, the chow mein was delicious but the shrimp tasted hard and old, as well as the sweet and sour chicken they tasted old. Hard to chew.

I door dashed a combo meal from Double Happiness, but even the fact that it was delivered wouldn’t be able to account for how bad the food tasted by the time it arrived. The temperature wasn’t the problem; the taste was. I ordered orange chicken, bbq pork, cream cheese wontons, and steamed rice and the only thing I enjoyed were the deep fried pockets of cream cheese, go figure. Both the chicken and the pork were so drastically overcooked that the chicken was like stringy rubber and the pork was like a chewy piece of leather. The orange chicken was absolutely drowned in sauce, a futile attempt to cover the taste of the chicken. Breading was falling off left and right. The only way that I could eat the pork was by dunking it in sweet and sour sauce. I’m genuinely not trying to be harsh, just describing my experience, but I would actually rather just go to Panda Express than here again.

My friend recommended this place because of the potstickers. So I ordered through DoorDash, and I have to say, I agree that the potstickers were the best that I’ve ever had. However, the noodles and the chicken were horrible. The noodles had absolutely no flavor at all and the chicken was hard as a rock on the ends and middle.I couldn’t even eat it. I don’t know if maybe my friend ate and there was a different cook at the time but, I spent over $50 just because their delivery charge and their handling and tax was absolutely ridiculous. There’s not one place on DoorDash that charge is what they charge, but I figured II spent over $50 just because their delivery charge, handling fee and tax was absolutely ridiculous. There’s not one place on DoorDash that charges what they charge but I figured I had a bad day, so I’m going to just try it and splurge so I could have it a few times. I literally threw the noodles away and chicken away, and I can understand sometimes things may be not to my liking, however the idea of throwing away 2 out of 3 dishes is pretty bad. I hope your experience is 100 times better than mine

Shrimp and sweet and sour chicken were so overcooked, it could not be eaten. I’m not a picky eater or anything. Will not order from here again.

I ordered thru Grub Hub, mixed vegetables with extra hot mustard. Grub hub super fast, but no hot mustard and vegetables had no flavor. I called and they said sorry that was it

Exactly what you would expect, great and humble service with the classic Chinese food options. Great portions for what you pay here in Bend.

Ordered from the lunch menu an entree of priced at $14.50 added an egroll. When I picked it up my bill was $34.50.
I questioned it and was told what I ordered wasn't on the lunch menu. I asked why the posted it on their lunch menu? I was told, I don't know.

Delicious beef and broccoli. My husband loved the sweet and sour chicken as well. They were slammed on Christmas and appreciate them being open for take out. Everything was delicious.

Worst veggie fried rice of my life. Wasn’t even really fried. The rice was so wet that the starch wouldn’t hold the grains together, you really would need a fork than a set of chop sticks to eat it. Can’t believe I paid $16.50 for that.

As a lover of Asian food, I often become sad in the Bend area because restaurant choices are sparse compared to places with a bigger Asian population. Also, I'm usually disappointed by the Asian food that exists here. However, Double Happiness is an exception. In a West Coast metro area, it would not stand out so much other than being another yummy family-owned Chinese restaurant. But in Bend, it's more rare to find authentic Asian food, and I would say this place is pretty legitimate. They offer an extensive menu of favorite items at Chinese restaurants as well as their own specials. My partner and I tried the mother's chicken, which was typical and on par with other restaurants. However, I was highly impressed by the extremely addictive beef fried rice. Fried rice is a comfort food for me and I'm always happy to find a great one. The menus say that they do not use MSG, but fortunately they still offer a lot of flavor. Service was fast and the place was fairly clean. This will be a go-to spot for me in Bend.
