Ordered the mac & cheese as appetizer - was just okay, pretty bland, and had a hair in it :/ Ordered the caesar salad with chicken as the main - $26 for my least favorite caesar salad I’ve ever had. Wouldn’t recommend either item. Cup of water also had debris floating around the bottom. Our waiter was kind, service was fine.

Unfortunately we had an outside table which I would not recommend. No effective shade and very hot. service was significantly delayed. There was a bad odor near the table and a lot of street noise from cars and trucks. In addition frequent gasoline smell from large trucks. I would go back for an inside table and try it out

My husband and I went here for the first time last weekend, the first date we had been on in ages so we were very excited. The artichoke dip appetizer was delicious, but then my husband ordered the salmon special and I ordered the manzanita melt. The salmon was half raw, had to flag down our server as he was not very attentive. He took it back to presumably make a new one, but then brought the same half-eaten filet back out to us, just cooked more. I work at a restaurant and if my manager found out we put the same piece of meat back on the grill instead of making a new one, she would lose her mind. My sandwich was unfortunately rather flavorless and underwhelming. They did give us the donuts for free as an apology for the undercooked fish, but then we got the bill and it was $46 for the salmon alone- shocking honestly. Certainly not worth the price tag. The staff also chatted and laughed quite loudly right near our table which made it difficult to chat while we dined. Overall, a disappointing experience. We likely will not be back.

Husband recently reserved us a quaint table near the rear of this historic restaurant. The vibes were just right; full bar, open kitchen to watch the chefs cook up our meal right in front of us, aromatic & delicious scents wafting from the kitchen. All good signs.
The real nail in the five-star review coffin for The Drake was the moment the Fried Chicken platter hit our table, which my husband ordered. It inspired the following remixed bars from the hit song, “Not Like Us,” by Kendrick Lamar… Please enjoy:

I would like to point out that I do NOT rap. I am 5’10” and am very aware that I am a very white woman. But the fried chicken and honey-buttered biscuit was so good that it made me feel like I COULD rap. Also, the donut holes slap. I would slap a child for more of them. And that’s saying something cuz I tend to be very motherly toward children. Definitely try them. 10/10.

Amazing food!! We had breakfast: drake Benedict, croquet madam and the donuts. All very delicious and large portions. We sat at the bar looking into the kitchen and it was entertaining watching them cook! Just know if you need something you'll probably have to wave down the waitress. Had to do that each time we needed coffee, water, silverware etc. They did take the donuts off our bill since it took a while, but they were busy. We would go back!
