What happened to this place? Been eating here since 2015 and lately it's gone downhill. It seems the El Sanch team is phoning it in, or they just don't care. These days we do a lot of pickup orders rather than eating at the Westside location. For the past year or so the team has been making a lot of mistakes on our orders. For every 10 take out orders I place, I'd say 8 of them will have a mistake. Last time they gave us the wrong kind of tacos (we ordered barbacoa, they gave use chicken). The time before that they left out all the items for my wife, who has some food sensitivities so she can only eat certain items. The time before that they forgot the chips and there was a hair in my food. Tonight, I checked my order before leaving the window out of necessity. Sure enough, they forgot to add an item. So when the girl came over, she seemed annoyed that I was checking the order. And when I pointed out the item they forgot, she went over to the line in a huff and got the missing item. When she brought it back she gave me a dirty look and didn't say anything as she turned and walked away. Like I was the bad guy... In addition the regularly messing up orders, they just removed some of my favorite items off the menu. The barbacoa tostada was my go-to favorite. No more, now it's tostada nada because it's gone. The specials over the past month or two have been lackluster and haven't really changed. All in all, El Sancho has been a Bend icon. You can still feed a family of four for under $50, which is nearly impossible in this day and age. But I hope the ownership team brings it back to its former glory. And although weed is legal in Oregon, maybe start drug testing. I've never seen a restaurant mess up so many orders with such regularity.
The place is small and quaint. My family enjoyed their food but it was not their favorite.

I first came here because I heard a friend recommended this store and said their mushroom taco was delicious.
Of course, this time I ordered the shiitake mushroom flavored Taco. I think it is very special. It uses several different kinds of mushrooms and they are very delicious. However, the taste of the mushrooms itself is still very delicate. I feel that if the seasoning is a little more obvious, it will overwhelm the taste of the mushrooms themselves. It is a pity! Their recommendation was to have fried shrimp in the future, but the fryer happened to be broken and I couldn't eat it. The other flavors overall taste really delicious and there is no problem. The seasoning is just right and the flavor is well balanced. However, the price is on the high side for a Taco snack, and it will cost a lot to be full.
There seemed to be a lot of customers, so there was a wait for meals.

A classic must have if you're visiting Bend. Perhaps some of the best tacos and margaritas you'll ever have. Combining simple food with rustic like counter service. Food is always solid. Drinks fantastic. Indoor or outdoor seating available. Prices are mildly upscale but reasonable. You'll never go wrong stopping here for a quick drink or bite.

Well, things sure have changed here 🥲. What used to be one of my favorite Bend taco shops has now been deleted from my favorites. I ordered four tacos to go. It was a slow day, I arrived well before the busy time.
The tacos were crowded into the container, I could only see three tacos. I approached the counter and the greeter counted three, as well. She asked the cook staff to make me a chicken taco. After about 5 min someone brought out a taco and stated, “here’s your extra chicken taco.” I thought that was rather an odd way to greet a customer.
The taco was horrible. There was an indistinguishable black piece at the base of the taco and the entire taco was grease soaked (refer to photo.) I lost my appetite and just drove home (I live a few hours away.) Once I got home and opened the box I found the missing chicken taco, it was crowded UNDER the others (note that two people had inspected the box and it was so sloppily put together that it was not visible.)
Now it all makes sense…the snarky girl brought me a “free” taco and the cook made sure it was the WORST quality ever! God only knows what else they did to the taco…and I’m sick thinking about it. Ridiculously embarrassing! Without a doubt, I will never eat there again 🥲.

Ordering can be a little confusing with the two windows. The booths are a little small. There's some outdoor seating but my group visited on a rainy night. The menu is good and food is delicious. A couple items could use some refinement but overall, it was excellent. Drinks are a bit too strong. Quality over the amount of liquor goes a long way. Drop prices and use less liquor. The chips and queso is amazing! The staff was very generous and answer my questions. I would visit again. Lighting was a little dark inside at night just before Halloween so I'm not sure how it normally is.

Tacos are good. While the service is good, the fact that they don't serve or even offer salsa with their tacos is weird. The atmosphere is depressing. And for 5 tacos, guacamole and 2 cocktails it was $60!

I have been eating at El Centro since they opened. They were quickly the most talked about and the best taco in town. It even became my favorite Taco in town. But over the years as they grew, I feel like they messed with their recipes tacos don't taste as good, and this recent time was the worst yet. I will probably no longer come and eat here. Taco meat was flavorless, and extremely greasy taco shells were soggy and gross. It's probably the worst tacos I've had from any Taco Shop and Bend
