Hattie's BBQ is the best BBQ in Bend, hands down, and could hold its own anywhere in the USA. This is phenomenal and tremendous BBQ, where the love and work put into crafting exceptional food is evident. The mixed plate, which can easily feed three adults, allows guests to try all the meats. The brisket is exceptional and moist, especially the brisket flat, which was nailed and not tough or leathery. The ribs are perfect, the pork is so good, and the burnt ends are literally meat candy perfection. The sausage, including cheddar filled sausages made with trimmings, is a mighty tasty surprise that can steal the show.
The sides are amazing, including Mac n cheese, elote dip, tangy slaw, tallow fries, and pickles which are the perfect complement. However, there is an opportunity to improve the potato salad and the beans. The presentation is legit and the beer selection is good. Hattie's has raised the bar and is going to put Bend on the map as a BBQ destination, with expectations for lines to form hours before opening.
