Best BBQ I have had in Bend- hands down. Hattie’s could hold its own anywhere in the USA. We tried the ribs, pork, and brisket which were all tremendous. The sides were amazing- the pickles were the perfect complement to the meat. The slaw was more tangy (if you aren’t a fan of heavy mayo slaw- this one is for you) and the tallow fries didn’t stand a chance. We did take out- can’t wait to try the other menu items.
Really good BBQ takes quality meat, good smoke technique and skill. But most of all it takes love. There is SO much work that goes into crafting exceptional BBQ that you have to love what you're doing, otherwise you'd never put in all the time it takes.
Central Oregon has had decent BBQ spots but the fellas at Hattie's have raised the bar. This is the best BBQ in Bend full stop. Not sure how many others would put in the time and effort these guys...
