Ida's Cupcake Café on Galveston

I have been a fan of Ida’s since the original shop on Galveston opened. I always buy the cupcakes (minis and large gourmet) for holidays (decorated accordingly). They are always a hit with family/friends. Favorite flavor cake? Chocolate, of course! Especially delish with the chocolate chips in the batter.

I ordered a vegan/gluten free cake for a co-workers upcoming wedding celebration. It is hard to find vegan/gluten free cakes that taste good. Ida's cake was not only good it was phenomenal. I ordered my own cake to take back home with me and am savoring every single piece. I wish I lived closer to Bend. I would order these all the time. I also ordered a few pupcakes for my dogs who loved them too.

Very disappointed. We ordered two dozen mini cupcakes for my high tea themed baby shower. I pre-ordered three weeks in advance and selected different frosting types, one being marionberry. I got a call the day of and was informed that marionberry was seasonal and they no longer offered it. I was surprised because when I ordered, I set a specific pick up date and assumed that the options I was given would still be available. Marionberry is my favorite. Super disappointing. I picked up the cupcakes and they were irritated that I asked for my prepaid tip to be refunded. The cupcake frosting was sloppily done and did NOT resemble the lovely photos on their website on their website or even in the customer reviews. Either it was a new person or no care or effort was put into decorating. I went with all vanilla cake for my two dozen and the ones that were eaten were dry. Either old and not freshly baked or overdone. I would have been better off getting mini cupcakes from Walmart - they would have been more presentable and the cake would have been moist. Suffice it to say, a few were eaten at the baby shower, I tried a few more the next day and ended up throwing away about a dozen. I do not recommend this business and I will certainly not return.

We were in Bend for my daughter’s birthday while on a roadtrip. I found this place online and couldn’t be happier with our experience! We just needed 6 cupcakes for our family to celebrate our girl. We could customize the cake and frosting and have it finished in 5-10 minutes. It was everything I could’ve hoped for in celebrating our girl while traveling! Easy and delicious!

Amazing cupcakes and service. It’s fantastic knowing that not only am I supporting a local business and a great family, but also supporting young community members learning how to be in business and customer service. Thank you for the years worth of great cupcakes!

I love Ida’s cupcakes. I usually get cupcakes for every birthday party for all my girls from the Redmond location. I was at work today on the westside of Bend and figured I’d try the Gavelston location for ease. I called on my lunch break, at 11:50 and they told me not a problem for the cupcakes I described as it would only take 10 minutes (half dozen for bday morning) awesome I said I get off of work at 5, does after that work? No problem the young lady assured me. Only to get there at 4:58 and be told a. They can’t add color to frosting? So idk why anyone would agree to my original pink frosting mini mouse themed cupcake. And b. They close at 5. They kept insisting I called the wrong location to which I gladly whipped out my phone, told them the number I called, and confirmed that was, in fact, the right location. Last time I ever order here or refer people. Super disappointing. Usually they’re amazing and the first bakery I refer. Im not sure if it’s summer help or what.

Very disappointed. On Monday, May 6 we arrived near closing time. The sign on the door said OPEN. When we went to order, we were told that everything was put away and they could not help us.

Ida's has a great variety of flavors and I love that you can mix and match the base cakes with different frostings of your choosing. They have a pretty solid cream cheese, which is what I always look for whenever I'm at a cupcakery. They also have good basic flavors like chocolate and vanilla, although I've had better places for red velvet. Prices are awesome for the quality of food that you get, and the mini cupcake packs are excellent to serve at smaller parties. Service is fast and helpful. When you get the food to go, it's packed well and retains quality. The interior of the place is minimalistic with not much inside. Definitely a good place to get some sweet treats and I know a few people who are really into the cupcakes here.

We went to Ida’s cupcake in Redmond location twice. We love the cupcakes. It’s the best cupcakes we ever had. However I would not go back there again because of the unfriendliness of the staff. The young ladies that work there are not friendly at all. They are so awkwardly unfriendly and made my kids and myself feel very uncomfortable both times. I don’t know if the bend locations are better but I doubt it. Goodbye Ida’s. Not worth it !!!
