This is an absolute gem! The food is out of sight, the service is beyond excellent, and we cannot wait to go back again. Pro tip…get the espresso martini with their house-made kahlua!

John hit it out of the park with this one. the cocktails amazing. mocktails for my kids they loved it. my 2 daughters requested going there two nights later. they got the pizza and the sourdough pizza dough was so savory. first night I got the summer salad with roasted peaches and burrata, when we went back a few days later I got the tuna crudo with watermelon gazpacho. THIS NEEDS TO BE ON THE MENU!!!!! If you are there and they have this you have to get it. desserts get 1 of each they are delectable. I was lucky enough my daughter's let me have a bite of their sundae and tiramisu. if you have family dinner at home go for dessert at least. They are incredible. the atmosphere was classy, old fashioned but I felt so welcome.

A really good experience. I sat at the bar and had full service. If you want a table you may want to get a reservation. They have a nice selection of beer and wine. I started with the summer burrata with peaches and blackberries. It was served with toasted sourdough bread, a great combination. It was tough to choose just one entree but I went with the Halibut, an excellent choice. A very nice restaurant, perfect for date night or just get together with friends.

No frills. Previous Chef.

Pros:
Restaurant is run and owned by head chef.
Menu is straight up brilliant
Somehow execution is better
If yr a Phish fan or Flaming Lips fan…..go (edit: there a ton of stuff I missed. Hot damn. Gurnee is good good.)
If yr a bitter foodie ex-chef….go
Walking distance/biking distance to so much fun stuff
Wait till you see the inside—-here and ‘Dear Mom’ are KILLING the game.

Cons:
Literally nothing.
Our server was a little dry and interruptive but he grew on me.
Yr next to Anthroplogie and it’s a little challenging for parking—perchance
Front of house hovers a bit

Final thoughts:

I don’t EVER give a place five stars unless they’ve earned it.

Service getting 3 stars because they didn’t read notes I left on Tock when I booked. And chef came and spoke to table next to us but not to us—two people from Mississippi with expertise in southern cuisine—which was clearly apparent by what we ordered—I’d like to think. And even if not—they would have if they’d read reservation notes about cancer and glysophate sensitivity.

Get on board with glysophate sensitivity not being gluten/celiac shit.

Read a Pollan book.

The head chef/owner here is CRAZY GOOD.

His name is John Gurnee and he’s a MASTER.

Unfortunately, he didn’t find out that the biggest Jay Mac, Bret Easton Ellis, Donna Tartt fan was here tonight.

I think I’m coming back tomorrow.

P.S. Wait till you see how good his taste in black and white is. The most beautifully overbearing dining room I’ve ever seen. The floors are worth more than equipment.

I CANNOT say enough good things about what Gurnee has done here. Portland needs to take notes.

In my opinion- run, don’t walk, to check out Lady Bird. We had the absolute best evening here. We sat at the bar as the place was full and I 10/10 recommend. Jenna was the best attentive and helpful bartender and it was so fun watching the team both behind the bar and on the floor - clearly they enjoy working together and they do it so well. The drinks were delicious and the food was phenomenal. We had the summer burrata, wood fired oysters, gamehendge pizza and the food fired citrus roasted carrots (I’ll be dreaming of these for awhile).
Thanks Lady Bird team for the best dinner I had in Bend!!

Service was excellent—very friendly and helpful staff. The food, however, was just okay. I’ve had meals at this price point (and for less) that were more enjoyable.
The outside patio seating came with a “lovely” view of the parking lot.

Really beautiful place to eat. Service was wonderful and the short rib was the best meal I have had in a while! Absolutely coming back and recommending this to others.

This was once a favorite of mine. The food is quite salty and so are the servers.

Went to this restaurant on a Thursday evening, wanted to love it as looked cute and intriguing atmosphere. Seated outside right away, and sat for 23 minutes without being acknowledged or served by a server.

Meanwhile watched two tables seated after us get drinks and have food orders taken, & 2 waiters walking back and forth by our table w/out ever stopping. We got up and left. Rude.

Got a reservation for 4, costed 10 per person for inside seating. The waitress, I believe her name was Alexis, was very helpful and was great at checking in on us and giving us options since one person in our group was gluten free and another one was under 21. We had the chef choice salad and the bacon wrapped dates. After we got four pizzas which was great to box up for later since they were about 2-3 serving amounts. Even though it was expensive, I would love to go back!!
