We actually couldn't eat there. We arrived as they were supposed to opening. We asked an employee if they were open, and they said they should be, but wasn't sure when the door would open, or why it was taking so long. We waited another 15 minutes and decided to leave. The three star rating is a reduction based on previous experiences. with McMenamins.

This courtyard cigar bar forces guests to walk directly through a cloud of cigar smoke to reach their hotel rooms, which is unpleasant and detracts from the spa-like zen-garden vibe of the rest of the grounds. The smoke feels pretentious and obnoxious, not hip or trendy, and it's unfortunate this smoking pit is on the main path to most of the hotel rooms.
