Really yummy date smoothie. It tasted like a milkshake! Very knowledgeable about ingredients. Lots of gluten free and soy free options. Super friendly staff. I will definitely return next time I'm in Bend!

I think it’s time for a Mother’s in Redmond. Please, please, please

I really wanted to love this place because I love healthy, high quality food. The beet apple sandwich was weird but pretty good. The bohemian rhapsody was a bit disappointing. Both seemed wildly overpriced, even for high quality ingredients. That bohemian rhapsody was NOT worth $18 + tip or whatever I paid for it. Sorry. 😕

Wow, really disappointed. I called to place a take-out order and asked for the Sunrise Wrap, vegan with the tofu scramble. Seemed straightforward. But when I got home, I found it still had bacon and cheddar cheese in it—kind of defeats the whole point of ordering vegan.

When I called back to let them know, the person on the phone didn’t apologize or take responsibility. Instead, she questioned whether I had really said I wanted it vegan (I did) and emphasized how busy they were, as if that somehow excused the mistake. I get that it’s a busy place, but being slammed doesn’t give you a pass to be dismissive or make the customer feel like an inconvenience.

What stings even more is I’ve spent quite a bit of money here on weekend breakfasts—and they could easily see that in their system. Instead of owning the mix-up and offering to make it right, they doubled down on defensiveness and guilt-tripping.

There are plenty of great spots in town (shoutout to Active Culture, just two minutes away) that manage to stay friendly and accommodating even when things get hectic. Mother’s used to be my go-to, but after this experience, I think I’m done.

Best Breakfast in Bend! We always get the sunrise wrap, fat burner smoothie and morning buzz coffee. It is the perfect trio! Food is so fresh!

I love Mother’s Juice Cafe!. It’s homey, delicious, fresh, and the amazing staff are friendly and knowledgeable and welcoming. Today I had their black bean soup, which was hearty and delicious. The cabbage and lime that came with it was unexpectedly delightful. They serve coffee in a bunch of different, unique mugs and support local artists. My favorite things to get there are their rotating and so far always hearty and flavorful delicious soup, their green fresh pressed juice (I love that you can customize your own blend, at least you can at their Eastside Café), and their cinnamon latte is delicious for a special treat. My kids love their mango smoothie made w real fruit (& not some gross sugary fake ingredients). Thank you Mother’s for being part of the Bend community.

I love this place. The juices, sandwiches, salads, staff, ambience. Every time I
am in Bend, I’m at Mother’s.

I’d been wanting to eat here for a while and finally tried it. My warm beverage was really good and I enjoyed drinking it from a real mug! Workers were friendly. I got the turkey sandwich on a gf wrap and it was disappointing. Not disgusting but I did have to force myself to finish it. Probably won’t be returning. Odd flavors and didn’t taste fresh.

Got two smoothies and two turkey sandwiches. Smoothies were decent. Sandwiches cost $16 each, and they were very disappointing. Toasted only on one side of the bread, mushy, and superrrr bland. Never paid so much for such a bad sandwich before.

Mother’s in Bend, Oregon, is a charming restaurant with adorable decor. I ordered the ‘Hello Portobello,’ which was a delicious marinated portobello mushroom sandwich with heirloom tomatoes, caramelized onions, goat cheese, pistachio crumble, herb lemon aioli, and wild arugula on thick-sliced in house sourdough bread. When you bit into the sandwich the immediate flavor I got was the marinated portobello. As I chewed I could smell the fragrant caramelized onions. It was nice that every few bites you got a little bit of the pistachio crumble, that left you wanting more. The heirloom tomato had that fresh from the vine taste to it, it was thickly sliced and had the perfect acidity. The goat cheese and the lemon aioli married this sandwich together tastefully. The flavors were complex and well-balanced. I was pleasantly surprised to find potato salad with my order. It was homemade and delicious, with tender potatoes, a dill-flavored mayonnaise based sauce, and subtle notes of red onion and scallion. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in-house made mayonnaise. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant was spotless and had a pleasant outdoor seating area. The sandwich was light and refreshing, and I would definitely return for another meal.

Mother’s Westside Kitchen is only open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 3 PM. Their menu offers a variety of breakfast options, sandwiches, wraps, salads, bowls, smoothies, juices, and coffee.

I was blown away by how good their power bowl is as we as their sandwiches. I stopped in to get an acai bowl and left with more food then intended. This place did not disappoint!
