Such a cool place! We went here all three days we were in Bend. The staff was kind and engaging. The drinks were SO GOOD! The first day I did the vanilla latte which was delicious but the real score was the Chai latte I had the next two days. Best chai I've ever had! Well done Palate!! Can't wait to come back on our next visit to Bend. ??

The barista was showing off a potentially illegally kept chert biface he found to select patrons. That is cultural material that belongs to the Indigenous Peoples of this land. I can't ascertain if it was collected on state, federal, or reservation land, which would violate state and federal laws, but it was still pretty crass either way. That's not your cultural material!

The coffee is good, but the prices are out of this world. I can get the same beverage somewhere else in town for 30-40% less. Also, when we went most recently, the cafe was empty and there is still the expectation to collect your own drinks and bus your own tables. After personally working in specialty coffee for many years that’s an insult to the tipping culture. I shouldn’t have to hear my name being yelled through the cafe and out the front door to the outside tables. Your work environment extends beyond the service counter!
