We usually only go out for supper once a week, but when I saw Salute Restaurant & Bar Bend post about their gnocchi special tonight, I looked at Jim and said, “We're eating out two nights in a row!” I kicked things off with an Italian Margarita while Jim ordered a pilsner from pFriem. The amaretto float in the margarita gave it this amazing aftertaste that made me go, “Wait, what was that?”—in the best way. We both chose the “Local Special,” which includes a three-course meal for just $39. Such a great deal! For starters, Jim had the Caesar salad, and I went with the zuppa di cipolle. The onion soup was rich and flavorful, and I especially loved the cheese toasts on top—just like we do at home. Jim's Caesar was creamy, well-balanced, and hit all the right notes. For our mains, Jim ordered the scampi, which he said had a bright citrus flavor and just the right touch of garlic. I, of course, had the gnocchi special. Let me tell you, those gnocchi were light, airy, and practically pillowy. The pomodoro sauce was simple and perfect, letting the gnocchi shine. Dessert was a win, too. I had the strawberry cannoli—stuffed with ricotta and mascarpone, topped with fresh strawberries and toasted pistachios. It was crispy, lightly sweet, and a perfect finish to the meal. Jim was too full to enjoy his tiramisu at the table, but he took it to go and it looked beautiful—he'll be digging in later tonight. Service was excellent! I'm kicking myself for forgetting our server's name, but she was warm, attentive, and made sure we were having a great time. Her friendly chit-chat added that extra special touch to an already wonderful evening. Fingers crossed that gnocchi becomes a regular on the menu—hint hint! We'll definitely keep the Local Special in mind next time we're deciding where to eat.
Our server was phenomenal. She could not have been better. Each dish was presented beautifully and the flavor delightful. My only comment that would not be totally positive is that the amount of pasta was quite small, something like seven ravioli, for the price. Still, that will not keep us from coming back.
The food is impeccable. Everything was delicious and very beautifully presented. Elise was our server and she was awesome. We've dined at many restaurants in Bend over the years but Salute in my opinion is the very best.
Our dinner was extremely tasty! Steak cooked how we liked and handmade ravioli was amazing! Drinks were made with great flavor and the dessert was decadent. Will definitely come back and recommend to all. Great to have a nice Italian spot in town that can do it all!
Fantastic experience at Salute! Impeccable service, delicious food, well crafted cocktails. Tim was our server and he made our evening enjoyable. This is our new favorite place!
Salute never disappoints. The food and the staff are outstanding! Everything on the menu is delicious. The best kept secret in Bend.
Tim was a wonderful server. Just the right amount of attention. Good was great. Happy to have the chicken Marsala back on the menu.
reminds me so much of classic italian restaurants i grew up with on Long Island in NY. super authentic. caring staff. food delicious and properly coursed!
Once in a while, we go out and have dinner with our friends They recommended this particular place Service was prompt. We ordered our drinks which by the way were good we all had salads. Excellent. The menu was fairly limited so we decided to go with the pasta which was very very good. we all ordered four different types of dessert which were excellent. They weren’t over sweet sorbet gelato. Ice cream was very good. The shocker was it was on Wednesday which they run these great specials and on top of that surprise our friends decided dinner was on them. You definitely get your your money is worth highly recommend this place

We had the best food. But our service with Tim was exceptional. I am gluten free and they were careful and well informed. We don't get many date nights so we are particular with where we spend them. We absolutely will be back. The caprese was to die for, one of my all time favorites! Thank you for taking care of us.

Made reservations but table not ready. Service was slow and had to ask twice for water. My husband had the Wild Boar Tenderloin which he said was really good. I had the ravioli in Alfredo and it was okay. I've had better. The ravioli was small but probably because it was a first course. Not many entrees to choose from. Caesar salad was good. Overall not impressed. We won't be back.
We've frequented almost all the Italian restaurants in Bend and others in Italia, but Salute has become our “Go To” Italian restaurant in our hometown of Bend. Excellent food at reasonable prices and a truly European atmosphere with superb service. Perfect!
We really enjoyed our evening! Everyone and everything was wonderful! The noise level was high at the beginning but seemed to get better, noticed waiters asked loud group of people to try to hold it down. We really appreciated that, as we were anticipating a nice evening with conversation you could hear across from our table!
