Stopped in to try Bends infamous Sweetheart Donuts!
Today I ordered:
Chocolate Bavarian Custard Filled Heart for $3.12
I was excited to see that the donut is actually in the shape of a heart! The downfall was that this was not a fresh donut, Meaning that it was not soft it was tough to bite into like it was a day or so old. I was also no impressed that the bavarian cream was only in the upper side pockets of the hearts. I was expecting it to be jam packed full bavarian cream. My suggestion would be to add more into the center of the heart going in from the point to fill it or even where the heart crease. Due to the ration bing off I didn't eat most of the donut.
Seasonal Carmel Apple Filled $2.86 The same thing with this donut it was not a fresh donut. It was a tough to bite into as well. I will say though that it had an amazing taste to it which offset the toughness of the fought.
Experience within the establishment:
I was expecting hot fresh donuts as I was there right at opening yet none of the donuts where warm.
There was not the sweet aroma that you would smell when walking into a donut shop after they just made donuts.
The person behind the counter was stocking setting up the shop when I walked in.
Overall the experience was great the donuts are lacking as they are not fresh.

Disappointed I use to come here when I was in town and they used to melt in your mouth donuts but I went today and the donuts were hard tasted old.

Nice little donut shop! My wife and I gave it a visit because she's gluten free and they sell gluten-free donuts.Earlier in the morning I got a donut at a competitors donut place, and I felt bad that she couldn't eat it. But that shop told us about sweetheart donuts and how they sold gluten-free ones.My wife chose a German chocolate cake donut that was gluten free, and we took it to go. When we got to the park to divulge she had one bite and made a face...."this is horrible." The crazy thing is she's not a picky, eater, and willingly tries (and likes) just about anything. However, she couldn't even finish the donut after that initial bite. She said it was so tasteless and texture-wise just horrible.It was the first and only thing she had to eat that morning so I knew she was hungry, but even then she wasn't even willing to eat more. She ended up throwing it away. And she knows I hate to waste food and money. But yeah, just horrible, at least the gluten free donuts.
Dietary restrictions: They sell gluten free. But, buyer beware.

I want to start off by saying I think they have good donuts, but the customer service is awful. I've been coming here every week for the past two years, as I travel to Bend for work weekly. The person who works on Thursday mornings has now made me never want to go back. She constantly corrects you even if she knows what donut you're talking about, and often times has already put it in the bag. It's very frustrating as a customer to be corrected, especially over a DONUT. Her attitude is less than desirable as well.

I’m more of shopping local but the way you are treated goes long ways. Rude service not worth the money.
Perhaps I’m used to Bend’s Gold standard (rhymes with witchard’s) or these are sorely sub par donuts. Kids didn’t like or finish them which was rare. To the apple fritter. One of the worst fritters I’ve ever had. Doughey, devoid of flavor, no sugarey sweet yummy glaze on exterior. Won’t be back unless Witchard’s is closed. Oh! The chocolate rounds and bars really sucked too. The maple doesn’t hold a candle to you know who. I really hope they improve. Would love to spend my money at a second good donut location.
Donuts were good, but not great. Also, when I paid with card I was asked "do you want to leave a tip?". Not only was I provided no extra service other than grabbing a few donuts out of the case and put them in bags, you have also put me as the customer in a very awkward position to have to say "no" if I don't want to or feel it is warranted. Please stop asking if people want to leave a tip.

Disappointed. The bacon on the maple bars needed to be more crisp and/or grease drained, and the doughnut was doughy. Assuming they were fresh made, the other varieties seemed dry or dense. They looked good but didn’t taste up to the quality I expected from a speciality shop.

If you're only going to have gluten-free donuts maybe once every 3 months maybe you should not say that you have them. And don't tell people it's because of the weather is the reason you don't have gluten-free donuts....so

Sweetheart donuts catered the dessert for a wedding I coordinated in June of 2023. They offered a variety of flavors, including GF, and the donuts all looked beautiful. These guys were so easy to work with, which is a huge plus as a wedding coordinator. Will definitely suggest them for future events!

It was smaller than I expected but the donuts delivered on taste! I wish I had more room in my belly. Maple bar was huge, raspberry jelly glazed was perfect. Not too expensive, just what you need to start the day.
