This is an Indian restaurant that could exist anywhere in the world and make it. I say that as someone who has lived in four countries on three continents. The food is solid and tasty with easy customization of spice level!
Large selection of dishes served for lunch buffet. The food was delicious!
Delicious buffet items. Tasty chai! Friendly service. LOVE this place.
Great buffet for a quick lunch or dinner.
The worst food I’ve ever attempted to eat. I’m not kidding: the 5 star reviews are a hoax. Save your money.
Tonight was the first time ordering the Ginger Chicken and it was amazing! Definitely coming back for more soon! Thank you for your hospitality.
I've been eating Taj since they first opened in downtown Bend. Honestly I used to eat there at least once a week for years. They've since moved from downtown, I'm sure it's because Bend has become (🙄😳🤯) hard to afford. Regardless the Taj Palace hasn't skipped a beat they are still the same amazing food I used to eat all the time!! Such epic food and the most friendly place and people ever! If you're looking for a recommendation for what/where to eat, this is it. Go to Taj Palace and eat their truly delicious food!! My favorite is the lunch buffet!! If you read this and follow my advice, you're welcome.
I arrived in Bend late (May 28th) and was craving Indian food. I found Taj Palace just 10 minutes from my hotel, and from the moment I walked in, the place had a welcoming vibe. I looked over the menu and ordered the lamb biryani, but mentioned to the server that I actually prefer goat, if available.
To my surprise, the owner, Lakireddy, overheard our conversation and kindly offered to substitute goat for lamb. That level of attentiveness and hospitality is rare—and deeply appreciated.
When my food arrived, I invited him to sit and chat, and he graciously did. We spoke in Hindi, and he shared stories about Bend, the local community, and his own journey. It was more than just a meal—it was a warm, genuine connection. Lakireddy wasn’t just running a restaurant that night; he was a true ambassador for the city.
The goat biryani was absolutely delicious, and the hospitality even better. I look forward to returning to Bend and visiting Taj Palace again—not just for the food, but for the company.
I love love love this place! Food is delicious and the staff is so kind.
Taj Palace is so awesome! Ready, the owner and ALL of his family and employees are super attentive. Don’t get me started on the buffet! For some reason, it’s not showing up on Google. They are, In fact, open at 4:30pm on Tuesdays!!!! Google need to fix that!

The chicken makhani here is so amazingly good, I only get to have it every several years when I'm in town, but wouldn't miss it for anything! Best in the US!
Incredible flavors, not too overwhelming spices and big portions.
This place went over above with their service. The food was amazing. They provide six different types of sauces that you can dip and combine with your meal. It’s really amazing. I highly recommend the garlic nan with your meal.
Got take out food from there. We ordered idli and Sambhar, masala tea and butter chicken. Love the idli so much, it was best, soft and yummy. Didn’t like the sambhar that much, it was bit salty for us. Overall it was good.
Nice Indian food with a great buffet for lunch and dinner.
