Big big fan of this restaurant. Staff is great. Food is amazing. I love the middle eastern touches like falafel and schoug: harissa. The burger is amazing. Go now for dinner!! Oh yes, the corkage policy is great too

Came here for a birthday dinner. Reservation asked if we were celebrating anything and we were — a birthday. Host looked at the iPad, zero acknowledgement of our occasion. Not a big deal. Server was incredibly slow, even though the restaurant was slow. She obviously didn’t care, and didn’t even offer us her name. There were maybe 4 other tables in the entire restaurant. 10 min for a glass of wine. Got apps, tuna poke was good. Server said she’d be back to clear our plates — never came back. Dinner came and it was good. Nothing super special. We got the steak and scallop entree. Scallops were a little spicy, finished my water and had to start drinking my boyfriend’s since our server was no where to be found and even upon another trip to our table, didn’t offer to refill my water.
We were done & ready for our check by 8:20 (reservation was at 7pm). Restaurant closed (according to google maps) at 9 pm. Second to last table got up, and then we were the only table left. Still waited a while for our check. Server came back with check, and within 30 seconds we put our card in and waited another 10 min. Obviously these people are ready to get out of here, and we were trying to get out of their way, but our server was leaning over the bar counter 5 ft from our table scrolling on her phone. Then we hear the kitchen’s rap music. Finally she came to retrieve our cc and eventually we got out. No one told us goodnight, thanks for coming in, nothing. Pretty deflating birthday dinner.
My boyfriend and I are both in the service industry in another incredibly busy tourist town. We get it’s slow. We get you want to go home, but please at least give some sort of effort and don’t make us feel like a burden when we’re out on a date for a birthday dinner. We know our bosses would’ve been extremely disappointed in the service we received, had we given that service to one of our customers. He and I even talked about how we had better service at a brewery for lunch that was equally as slow …

First time there. After being seated and before my guest arrived for the start of Happy Hour (4:00), I was warmly greeted by my server and bartender, Cody. In the interest of time and space, let me say if there’s a better bartender and a more attentive server in Central Oregon , I will have to see them because in all my years in the area I’ve yet to meet a better one than Cody! Food (we had appetizers only) was superb as was the wine Cody recommended. Will definitely be going there again soon!
Parking: I parked in the back by the exit of the parking lot so there weren’t many spaces available at 3:45 PM. Did find one- likely to be more parking spots in front of the building.

Food was amazing. Service wasn't terrible. Could have been a little bit more professional server.

Didn’t even try the food since we were told to sit in a near empty restaurant and not given menus for 20 minutes. Ended up walking out due to lack of service or attention. Not what you’d expect for a place that charges 30 bucks for a fish salad

What an incredible meal I just experienced! From start to finish, I was blown away. I was immediately greeted and showed to a table. Decor was cozy and the attention to detail was obvious. The server, Nicholas, was personable and made great recommendations. I had the falafel with house-made tzatziki (best I had outside of Greece!) and the "Fresh off the hook", which was halibut today. I was blown away by the flavors. Just delicious!! 10/10, adding The Hook & Plow to my must-visit restaurants in Bend.

Fantastic place for date night or a delicious lunch. Great ambience and service was super. Great specialty cocktails - loved the Bourbon Mint Peach Julep! The crusted halibut and lamb were favorites. Worth a visit (or many).
This place was fantastic! It started from the entrance to the exit of the evening. The ambience had a cool NW vibe, the service was very personable and attention focused without being bothersome and the food was superior. The peppadew hummus was very tasty having a hint of sweetness which was a wonderful entry to the halibut. It was cooked to perfection, moist, flaky and buttery along with the nut coating gave it a bit of contrast. And it was over a bed of forbidden rice and roasted asparagus which served as the perfect compliment! You don't want to miss this one folks!
Although the food quality and table service were excellent, the noise level simply overwhelmed the dining experience. We couldn't hear each other speak and gave up trying to have a normal conversation. So sad! We left with our ears ringing and our resolve to never return solidly fixed.
We had some time to kill before the Tyler Childers concert. I was blown away by all the flavors, the presentation, and the laid back easy going staff. Thanks for making our "date day" perfect ?

Thoroughly enjoyed my first experience at Hook & Plow. The menu featured loads of seasonal and local ingredients and the dishes my wife and I ordered reflected that quality. We got the peach and burratta salad as an app, which was delicious. I do wish it had more burratta though. My wife ordered the scallop and uni cream risotto and it was decadent. So rich and well balanced and perfectly cooked. I got the lomo saltado, and it had exceptional flavors. I will say that I ordered the steak medium rare and it definitely was on the upper end of medium. Still, it tasted so good and the quality of the meat itself was very much apparent. Our two cocktails were also both fantastic. Also the service was top notch. Will definitely come back again.
