If you're in Bend or just passing through it's worth the effort to find this place! The tasting room is cozy and has a great vibe, the staff are friendly and cool, nice food trucks and of course fantastic beer. The focus on authentic German style lagers is a welcome departure from the typical PNW fare and the brewer nailed it, the Helles is super clear and crisp.

I moved to Bend in the summer of 2011. That means I’m almost a local. As an almost local, I place Van Henion’s “Helles Lager” and “Schwarzbier” in my Top 10 of Bend beers in that time period. There’s a lot of good company there. The brewery is an awesome spot, with plenty of seating and a couple of great food trucks. Stop by and enjoy!

Does not state anywhere on the website that minors are not allowed. We came with our family to eat at the Manzanita Grill and had asked if there was an indoor seating area for us and were told yes. However, when we arrived and had already ordered our food the only indoor area available for seating stated no minors allowed.

This place is awesome. Very chill and mellow. Great AC! The IPA is delicious. Love that they have full and short pints. The pizza food cart is 🤤, got the Rusty mule Detroit style. I do not regret this decision. Dog friendly outside.

Great German beers! Can’t comment on the IPAs as we didn’t have any. Food trucks were both really good. We went with the thick crust pizza which was great. A great spot to spend some time and have done beers.
