I am writing to bring to your attention an irregular transaction that took place at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the West Side Tavern. During a night out with a friend, I ordered a couple drinks and, due to my state of intoxication, inadvertently wrote $13.50 on the tip line before attempting to cross it out and rewriting it on the total bill. Under the circumstances, it would be unreasonable to assume the bartender could have genuinely believed the amount was intended as a gratuity. Furthermore, I observed the bartender selling 6-packs of beer after 2:30 a.m., which is a violation of law that could jeopardize the bar's license and her service permit. I have contacted the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) and plan to follow up daily until this matter is addressed. My primary concern is not the monetary amount but rather the bartender's actions and apparent lack of integrity. I am considering filing a police report with the Bend Police Department. Fortunately, I have photographic evidence of the transaction and the illegal sale that may help clarify the situation.

Worst experience I’ve had in Bend, hands down. Miserable bartenders, arguing over rules on the pool table, HORRIBLE service. Glad to never be back here.

We had great service (and we are from our off town). Strong cheap drinks- no complaints here

Hands down the most hostile bar experience I’ve had in Bend. I was “cut off” and without explanation, no eye contact and just flat-out ignored when I asked why. Both bartenders (male and female) were shockingly rude and condescending from the moment I walked in. Unless you’re part of their little clique, don’t expect basic human decency. The female bartender in particular gave off grossly jealous, bitter energy. Misogynistic vibes all around. This place thrives on arrogance and exclusion. If you enjoy being treated like trash for existing, this is your bar!!

Great place if you want to spend $6.25 for a 12 oz bottle of Modelo.

Terrible customer service. Regular bar lady assumed I was someone else and refused to serve the entire barrel the drinks they had already paid for. Bars aren’t usually a social club that requires race and status

If you wake up too early, or find yourself up too late- this is the last place for all of bend except literally one 7/11 south side third Street, the other seven elevens have elected for early closure due to safety concerns

Westside is the second tavern I went to in Bend and still my top favorite place to go. Ken is a good guy for sure and Corry in town is also a good guy.
Sad to say I haven't been there in about 18-20 years, someone smack me please. China Ranch was the first place, I was 20 just out of the service, good days for sure .

Frequented this spot many, many years ago. Stopped in for a beer and a bit of nostalgia. Good times!
