First night in Brookings and noticed that the Bistro was right across from where we were staying. Plus, it had an oceanview, so we decided to walk over. Great food and service. We started with blood orange margaritas and clams in white sauce. The drinks were tasty and very strong, and the clam appetizer was delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the half rack of lamb, and hubby ordered the bacon wrapped abalone. Both came with rice pilaf, grilled vegs, and a chicken tomato soap. The food was amazing. The portions were large enough to have leftovers for dinner the next night. We also took dessert home, bread pudding, and the flour less chocolate cake. Both were very tasty. The oceanview inspired us to take a walk along the beach afterward. What a great evening.

Clam chowder not good. crab cakes not good, very small, we didn't finish them. Menu said $18 for crab cakes, bill was $20. Waitress couldn't change it. She gave me $2 cash, from her pocket no doubt. The owner is a dork. I gave waitress 20% and the $2...

We found this place tucked away past our normal stops in Brookings. The staff were very friendly and there was plenty of seating, although we were there around 1, so a little after lunch. The service was egg efficient and thorough. The food was good. I had the clam chowder and while it was not the best in Brookings it was still very enjoyable. My son had the lunch salmon carbonara and it was very tasty. My daughter had the Asian Shrimp Salad and it was fantastic! It sounded like they can be pretty busy around dinner time. We would go back next time we're in town.

My last night of vacation I was looking for a really nice meal as a closure to the trip. Beachfront Bistro delivered in spades! I ordered the Vegetable Beef Soup and was delighted with the most excellent quality and melding of flavors. The Garlic Shrimp and Grilled Veggies were done to perfection. Seldom have I been to any restaurant and had every course be absolutely perfect in every way. If you are in Brookings, CA do yourself a favor and go relax and have an excellent meal at this wonderful restaurant!
Dietary restrictions: They worked with me gladly changing my meal to be Keto friendly.

the food was marginal. the quality of the steak was not great. they don’t have baked potatoes. how can you have steak without baked potatoes!!!! and the “mashed potatoes” tasted like freeze dried powdered potatoes. the vegies were dripping in butter and the garlic was over powering. don’t waste your time.

This is a very good breakfast spot within walking distance of 2 RV parks and a good motel. The chef shows real talent and the service was top notch.

We walked here from our hotel. The restaurant is kind of shabby and outdated. The food was good, I had the fish of the day. The service was friendly and efficient.

Stopped in for breakfast. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the Southern Stack. I was surprised to see how carefully it was plated (not used to that in Brookings at breakfast). Someone obviously paid mind to presentation. The Southern Stack was Chicken Fried Steak, atop a bed of polenta (seasoned with rosemary) and biscuits, topped with 2 eggs and a delicious homemade gravy. Everything was tasty and in proper proportion. I had a little bit of each item in each bite from start to finish, which is a weird thing I like. Ratios were on point. I recommend!
This bistro is by the beach, sort of. There is an rv park nearby. The place has lots of parking space and close to the docks. The servers were helpful.I ordered crab cake Benedict. It was good.
Our party of 4 ate here between lunch and dinner. It was not busy (given the hour we dined this was not unusual). The food was excellent and so was the service. Two of us had the French Dip special, one had fish tacos and I the grilled chicken pesto sandwich. The chicken was perfectly grilled, the tomatoes and spinach were fresh and the pesto delicious.
Ordered the fish of the day(Salmon with teri glaze). Perfectly cooked. Also ordered the crab cakes and Rockfish tacos. Crab cakes were a tad greasy, could have been placed on a paper towel before eating. The tacos were delicious and tasted fresh. Definitely recommend for a lunch trip to the shore.

We discovered a new restaurant on our travels (we live in Oregon and travel to visit elderly family in California). On the first night of our trip the service and food was stellar. We decided to dine there for breakfast the next morning. Again outstanding. On our return trip, we decide to go back for dinner. There is one family waiting ahead of us and a server comes to seat us, we tell them that the family was first. So, rightly, they are escorted to their table. Another server (approx 35 year old female with brown hair and a deplorable, surly attitude) asked if we had reservations. We said no. She threw her hand up at us dismissively and said, “well it’ll be awhile”. She stomps off. We wait a moment and she stomps past again, grumbling to herself, and kept on walking. I turned to my husband with a NSFW comment. We turned. We left. This my friends is how you lose business.
