Great atmosphere, and as long as you are strict military style on a schedule with your evening then this is a place for you, as for me, I dont like being greeted by the owner saying "you are late! Now you only have 50 minutes to order det drinks eat and get out so we can seat more people " we were 8 minutes late, sorry I'm from out of town, the waitress was awesome, tried to make up for the belligerent maitred/ owner/ bartender, but feel most people, myself included like to enjoy our evening out to dinner and drinks, not be pushed and told to hurry up because at 6:30 you will be leaving, it's a shame. If they fired the owner and stopped the assembly line cafeteria style dining strategy I would come back. Now I must disclose, and I really hope that they are under new ownership, because my dining experience was last year 2021 the second week month of july, so please tell me you are under new management since then and I may try you again and will immediately take this review down, but for me, I really wish I had read my own honest review so I could have saved myself and my friends the time, time we will never get back. And ofcourse the money.
The service was excellent. The servers were attentive but not in your face, kept our drinks filled and were very nice. The atmosphere was mediocre, it’s a very small dining room with very outdated furnishings and it’s kind of packed in there with chairs so it gets very loud when full and it’s hard to hear your own conversation. The food is where the rating really comes from. Overpriced and not great. The rice pilaf was crunchy and mushy, like when you scrape the dried bits off the edges of the pot and serve that. The green beans were undercooked and dry, and the steak while cooked excellently, was flavorless. The steak sandwich also ha no sauce, just a whole unsliced slab of steak on bread with raw onions (be nice if those at least got cooked to add some moisture to the dry sand which). And the knives weren’t sharp enough to warrant having to slice the steak ourselves for the sandwich. Not that we couldn’t do it, it’s just for the price you’d think they’d at least have done it up a bit nicer
This restaurant is open for business and serves delicious food. The restaurant is clean with many windows so it has an airy feel. The Pacific Cod was very great and my husband’s Scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dessert menu had lots of choices.
Myself and 4 family members went in for dinner 5 days ago, and it was a fabulous experience all the way around! The steak was delicious (according to my brother)…the rest of us had seafood. It was soooo good! I highly recommend the seafood platter!! Sooo delish!! It had oysters, calamari, scallops, clams and fish. I can’t wait to go back!! We all truly appreciated the great food and service, and all agreed we want to go back! We all posted it on our Facebook, and recommended it to our friends and other family members. I literally had enough seafood left over for two meals! Thank you, O’Holleran’s! See you soon!
Excellent food (as usual). Salmon Bisque was delicious! Always enjoy having Angela as our server.
Very impressed, despite reading some of the reviews. We were passing through on our way to the Redwoods and happened upon this place. Friendly and timely service. I ordered the special of tips/shrimp/scallops, my friend had cod. Loved the blue cheese dressing. We took home the homemade Ghiradelli cheesecake….super yummy! Overall a decent meal.
I have wanted an amazing steak meal for so long and I was not disappointed! Everyone was so sweet, the food was amazing, and the fully loaded baked potato is the way to go with a perfectly cooked steak! So worth the money and drive!
This is my go to restaurant for special occasions. Every birthday, anniversary, visiting dignitaries, we go to O’Halloran’s. I have the surf and turf, and it is mouth wAtering, cooked to perfection. People need understand the struggle of others. The climate has been very tense with Covid, especially toward service people. I urge everyone to be nice, give everyone a break and enjoy yourself! The food is fantastic and no one needs to kiss your feet, that is another business altogether..
My GF and I had reservations at 4pm. We spent approximately $300.00 between us. We were told at 5:15 we needed to leave before 5:30. We were offended! I called and spoke with the owner and she made every excuse there was. She was Not apologetic and said, "you should have been told this with your reservation". Well we were not told we had exactly one hour to order, wait, get drinks, wait, receive food and possibly eat our food.. then at 5:15 we were told we needed to leave for the next customer. BAD very insulting. IF YOU FEEL IT WAS ONLY BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE... YOU HAVE NO IDEA WE ORDERED DINNERS TO GO HOME!! Your worried about the pandemic? Treatment like this to your customers just caused your own fate.Do You want our receipts? Do Not EVER put down people that spend money on several dinners. You Are pathetic. I spent $150 on myself my friend spend $200.00. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!! I am sharing your response on FB and socal media. Your saying we camped out as we spent over $300 in 1 hour? We took our food in bags to go home. We were not even asked about desert. We asked about it and it was placed in the bag to go home. Never Again. If you knew me and my profession you would NEVER say I think about myself only! Your words are horrid!!! Your worried about the pandemic? Your accusations just caused your own fate.
Came in kind of late for dinner but the wait staff didn't seem to mind and made sure I had a great experience. Enjoyed the salmon and some wine.

Honestly one of the best dinners I have ever had. I have had calimaria 100's of times. This was the best ever. My steak was cooked to perfection. We are staying a week in Brookings and will be coming back every night.
Probably the best prime rib that I’ve had in recent years. Cooked to perfection, tender and excellent tasting! Truly a gem on the coast. We hit it about 4 times a year.
My husband and I started coming here almost a year ago. My parents live in Brookings so every time we visit, we make it a point to make reservations and go to a nice dinner at O’holleren’s. After our last 2 experiences, we DO NOT recommend this place and will not being coming back. Back in beginning of July we came here and all 4 of us had undercooked meat. My dads prime rib was supposed to be med rare and it was rare. My husbands and my lobster were undercooked and had to be sent back. They did cook it more and it was tasty after that. My moms salmon was undercooked and was sent back TWICE and it was still undercooked after that!! We figured maybe it was just an off night, everyone has those so we decided to try them again which was last night. Over a month later. We walked in and were immediately very rudely told we need to be masked, which is not a big deal to us but the owners tone of voice about it was uncalled for. She told us “every where you go in Oregon you have to wear a mask” even though we have been here for several days, dined out multiple times and haven’t heard anyone mention we needed a mask. Anyway, we put our masks on to walk the 15 steps to our table. We then proceeded to watch the owner sit at the bar, unmasked talking to an employee, who pulled his mask down to talk to him. But we got hassled to put ours on to walk around the corner? Ridiculous. We ordered drinks which were good. Our appetizers were not great.. calamari was over cooked. The soups were delicious. Then out comes our entrees and what do you know? Both lobster tails and salmon are undercooked AGAIN! Luckily my dads steak was cooked right this time. We sent the seafood back and it was cooked fully after that. The sides are extremely disappointing. Steamed broccoli that isn’t cooked enough to eat and has NO seasonings or flavor and the potatoes are just that.. mashed or baked potato. Nothing special. If I’m paying over $70 for a lobster dinner, I expect my sides to amazing as well and my meat to be cooked perfectly. I make way better dishes at home, not worth the money one bit. We tried to give them a second chance and were disappointed once again. After coming home and reading reviews, I refuse to support business owners who talk down to and disrespect their customers. I feel the only reason this place is still in business is because it’s the only restaurant in town considered a steakhouse.I will say, the waitress was amazing and did try to comp our desserts for us but the owners are very rude and unprofessional.
If you must wait forty minutes to be informed the meal you requested is not available there is an issue. When you reorder and ask for ketchup for fries for the grandson, and coffee and your meal is done and the waitress has not returned...then the server is the problem.Food gets 3 stars. Staff needs retraining or do over.
My wife took me there for my birthday it was awesome the staff was amazing very attentive to your wants or needs and the food was amazing as well a perfect and of the night We will be back
