Wow, Andrew was the best. Super cool dude. I am not much of a red wine drinker, but I was really impressed by what my husband and I tried while we were there. We were the only people there so we got lots of attention and it was a really great experience. This winery was not on our radar for our visit but it was close to our AirBnB so we stopped by, well worth it! Go!
An understated tasting room but without doubt some of the best Pinots in the Valley. I am a tour operator and Tendril is routinely voted the best of the day.
We really enjoyed Tendril and would say this is a must stop if you are in the area. Tony, the owner and winemaker, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions. We furthered our knowledge of wines and winemaking by leaps and bounds! His vision for the wines he creates really comes through and provides an excellent example of oregon pinot noir. Unlike many wineries these days, they bottle age their pinots before release allowing for much more balanced and approachable wines. Also recommend his white pinot and rose which were both unique and our favorite examples of the styles from the trip. We grabbed lunch to go at Horshradish next door and ate it with our tasting. Great time and looking forward to coming back!!
My favorite wine tasting experiences in the whole west coast. We took so many bottles home, we might just need to build a new cellar! Andrew is so entertaining and likable we did not want to leave!
We love Tendril! Delicious wines. Andrew is the best. Always welcoming.
Tendril Wine Cellars in Carlton, Oregon, offers a cozy tasting room, but remember to call ahead for reservations due to limited space. Tony, the winemaker, employs unique techniques that make their wines stand out. From Pinot Noirs to Chardonnays, Tendril's wines offer a delightful experience, making it a worthwhile stop for wine enthusiasts seeking something special in Oregon's wine country.
The best wine I’ve ever had.Love the pretender, c-note, and enchanter.
Cellar Door Wine Tours took us to Tendril Wine Cellars first on our 3-winery tour and warned us we'd like it best. We truly did. Each wine was delicious. I'm an Oregon pinot noir fan and they make great ones, but also loved their white pinot noir and rose. Tasting manager Andrew was delightful and kept us both informed and laughing! The tasting room is very small, but they also have outside picnic tables for warmer months. Make an appointment and enjoy! I signed up for the wine club as I enjoyed every sip.

Tendril Wine Cellars was just amazing - from the hospitality of Andrew and Tony, viewing and tasting the vines near the patio, to the incredible flight of wines and others off-menu. The C-Note, Pretender, a white pinot noir, and Tightrope a red pinot noir were our favorites! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon - Our shipment arrived in perfect order.
My wife and I have been traveling to the wine country for two decades and we’ve been to hundreds of wineries, and Tendril is one of just a few “every-year” stops because it really is an elite-level wine tasting in the growing sea of average Willamette Valley wineries. If you can manage to follow the directions on the website and make a reservation, this is one of the best wine experiences you can have in Oregon. The staff and winemaker are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their wines, and the wines stand with the best of Oregon in every vintage. The tasting room is simple and functional but the result is incredible wines at a far better value than you find from the high-overhead places. One more thing worth mentioning is that if you can’t get your head around drinking Tendril everyday (we should all be so lucky), they have another label called Child’s play that is pretty incredible as well at a crazy affordable price point. The Chardonnay Bubbles! ????TLDR; If you’re looking for *serious* wine in an unpretentious setting, I can’t recommend this place enough.
We walked into this winery late in the day midweek and had no problem getting seated. This is a very low key experience. Andrew spent a lot of time with us explaining their approach to wine making and discussing the various traits of the different vintages. The wine is excellent. This is a great last stop on a day of tasting through the yamhill-carlton ava. If you happen to be staying at the Ken Wright cellars lofts, it is the same parking lot!
The best wine tasting experience in town. Andrew knows his wines and he is such a great host&company! This place is really cozy and there’s no pretentiousness at all. My favorite is the white Pinot Noir from their special selection named “Pretender” haha! ironically :)
They do not want walk ins. Drove 1 and a half hours to taste their wines only to be told they couldn’t seat us. Only two other couples in the tasting area with numerous empty tables but he said he couldn’t make room for us. Thankfully there are plenty of other wineries in the area want our business.
