We usually have a wonderful time at the Coach House. However today we had a new older waitress that obviously did not want to be there and was very rude. There were only 2 other groups there in the entire place and yet she took almost 20 mins to come get our orders. The food took twice as long to be done and was cold. After my husband and daughter started enjoying their bread appetizer, I noticed there was a big spot of mold on the bottom of the bread. When we told the waitress she did not apologize or say anything, she just took the bowl. When we asked for a new bottle of wine to take home to enjoy at a later time they gave us a half empty bottle which we didnt realize until we got home.
Last night was the first time I've ever walked out of a restaurant without finishing my meal. We had a reservation for 6:15 and arrived 2 minutes early. A waitress pointed to our table, which already had menues on it, and asked us to sit there. Then we waited. And waited. And waited for another 21 minutes. No one offered us water. No one dropped by quickly to say "I'll be with you soon!" Nothing. Completely ignored. The restaurant was no busier than it typically is. We left without ordering or receiving even a tiny bit of service. We've always enjoyed the Coach House, so this is really disappointing. No one answered the phone when I attempted to talk to a manager today. Perhaps this review will catch their attention.
My wife and I were visiting the Coos area and found our new gem. I've been to.the Coos area around 15 times and I truly mean it when I say this: the food, the wait/service staff, cooks, the overall vibe, the unpretentiousness of the atmosphere, etc.... is unparalleled in comparison to everywhere else I've eaten while visiting Coos Bay. We forgot to reserve our place so the waiter found us two seats in the bar area! We loved the change in our normal eatery scenery. For dinner, I ordered the Hangar steak with a delectable chimichuri sauce drizzled over the top of the steak. It came with twice baked potatoes, and a vegetable medley. I ordered clam chowder vs. a salad that came with my entrée. I ordered the hangar steak medium and it was perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the surf and turf (filet mignon and shrimp) and hers was flawless as well. We couldn't believe the quality of the food. It was truly a foodgasm of the highest degree. We ended the amazing main course with dessert. I ordered a piece of cheesecake with strawberry topping and my wife ordered the chocolate cake. I would come back in a hot minute. Highly recommended.

This place was the absolute best restaurant I've been at in Coos. Great staff and grub. Highly recommend!
Family run and multi-generational restaurant! We came here with no reservations. We were not expecting any accommodations. But, they were extremely kind and after we asked if they had anything outside they very kindly setup a table for us. The server (Jorjia) was extremely friendly and even gave us a tip to put in our food order before the big party ordered all their food. Both pastas we ordered were exceptional. They were busy and still the food came fast and hot. Also, the kids menu! This is the first place I have seen go above and beyond for a kids menu, they offer sirloin steak, teriyaki chicken, and a bunch more non-standard kids food. To top it off, the kids food actually tastes good! If you are at all considering where to go in the Coos Bay area, go here. You will not be disappointed.

The restaurant has a beautiful, covered, warm patio filled with ferns and flowers. The bbq oysters were phenomenal and the steak was cooked to perfection. Some of the best clam chowder I have ever had! I would come back here in a second!

Sitting in their covered outdoor eating area surrounded by flowers listening to the rain while eating their delicious lunch specials (at a great price) is the best way to spend lunch time!

We sat in their outside seating area and it was really nice. Good atmosphere. Ordered off their lunch special menu, the BBQ chicken sandwich. It was delicious and cooked fresh. Seasoned well. The sides were great too. Beans, potato salad and fries. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Service was timely.

Just had a really great meal with friendly attentive service!
The food is always wonderful, the clam chowder is the best we have ever had. The one thing I am picky about is if they check on you and make sure your food is prepared corrected. That is the thing she missed. It was cooked perfectly and very tender.

The service was terrible and waited over an hour for the food to come. Waitress was very rude when asked when food is coming. Horrible experience for our first date.
