Really enjoyed our meal here. The service and food were excellent. The salad was fresh and our pasta dishes were all delicious. My husband's berry pie was yummy, too. Definitely plan to return next time I'm in town.
This was our second visit to Bellhop. The first one last Friday, we arrived a bit later and it felt like the staff was a bit overwhelmed. We didn't have either of the signature dishes on the visit, so we thought we'd try again. We arrived earlier and were seated right away. We ordered an IPA & old fashioned and then some fries to start. The fries arrived fairly quickly and were hot & crisp. After a few bites both of us agreed that they seemed to be missing something, they just seemed bland. Don't know why...I really wanted to love them, but it was as if there was zero potato flavor to them. We ordered the fried chicken and the meatloaf, which again came out in a reasonable amount of time. Both came with mashed red potatoes (skin on), chicken gravy for the chicken and a sausage cream gravy with the meatloaf. My people are from the South, so I was very excited to try the chicken. Again, crisp on the outside and hot... the plate was disproportionate with a huge (and I mean huge) pile of potatoes with a good amount of gravy, the veggie was green beans with yellow squash, along side of the there pieces (leg, wing & thigh). The veggies were the best thing on my plate, properly seasoned and cooked perfectly. The gravy, while it had a good "chicken" flavor, was in need of both salt and pepper. The chicken, if it's brined it doesn't come through, was lacking flavor and the white meat was dry. When I asked him how the meatloaf was the response was "dry," which was apparent from the crusted edges. This plate also came with a huge portion of the mashed potatoes but with a cream sausage gravy. I found myself stealing gravy from his plate as I was accustomed to a cream gravy with the fried chicken my family made. I wish they served a cream gravy with the chicken... it just needed pepper and it was perfect. My fiancée is not a picky eater, but this was the second time we were let down by Bellhop, so we won't likely give them another try. The overall ambiance is lacking with harsh lighting and chairs stacked in the corner. The staff and service this trip was much improved from our visit last week. That visit we had pasta and the eggplant parm. I thought both of those dishes were leaps and bounds above what we had tonight. Staff could use a little bit of training on how to interact with their guests... all in all, with some improvements, this could be a real gem. Just needs some fine tuning.
Vegetarian options: Several on the menu..
I've been a fan of Chef Brian's cooking since his Luc days. So sad when they closed, but now Bellhop is one of my favorite places in Corvallis. I've never had a disappointing meal here, love the atmosphere, and I very much appreciate the use of seasonal, local food. My husband wishes the seating was just a tad bit more comfortable.
It is lovely place, staffs are really nice, and food is also great
Always impressed by the staff's attentiveness and menu!
Really great food. I love that the food is more upscale than a lot of options around without being too expensive. Can't go wrong with any of the pasta dishes, I especially like the mushroom one
I had to ask my server for synonyms for fantastic just to describe the food I just ate. The meal was fresh, delicious, and creative. I had a caprese salad, brisket, and fried chicken, while my colleague opted for the fried chicken lunch. Both were generous portions and delectable. I cannot say enough good about Bellhop. My next meal here can't be soon enough!
Amazing dinning experience!!! M a guest in this town from a large city. Wow! I was blown away by their homemade pasta squid ink dish and the pickled appetizer dish. Both are very generous enough for 2 people. It was the best squid ink dish I ever had. Remind you I use to live in Italy. Excellent and pleasant servers!! They are creative and excellent. This is a place one shouldn’t miss. The house red is also very good.
Very disappointing honestly. I loved this restaurant the first time I tried it...went here last night for my birthday and ordered the pasta mushroom dish which was underwhelming in itself but then on one of my last bites I felt the texture of meat. The dish I ordered was vegetarian as I do not eat meat. I spit it out... I understand mistakes but dang, that's a huge mistake. It seemed like shredded pork or chicken? Horrible experience. Had we not ordered to go, I definitely would have had some words but they don't seem to answer their phone either after many times trying to call...
Either train your staff or hire more staff. There are only two waiters working on weekends. I came in for 20 minutes without even greeting. The work is very slow, there are already many people waiting or slowly clearing the table. 7 tables empty, almost half of the restaurant was empty, couldn't even let us sit first. I still feel like staying and seeing how delicious a restaurant so arrogant really is that all the customers are being waited for so rudely.I never say they are not nice, just need to have a effective way to manage the restaurant so it will benefit the restaurant and customers.Food are average, they have some their own idea about food. Nice environment.

Cute restaurant with an appealing menu. I’ve docked a star because the restaurant menu differs from their website menu, both in the items and pricing. Additionally, my sandwich was not made with the menu ingredients.I ordered the beef dip which arrived with brie cheese instead of Swiss per the menu. Don’t get me wrong, I love brie, but it is far to overpowering and took away from the other sandwich elements (if I’m being honest, I’m a French dip purist and prefer no cheese. I wish it came with no cheese with the option to add for extra). The au jus was wonderful and not watery and tasteless like you often find, but the mug is not practical for dipping a sandwich in. Husband had no complaints about his fish and chips and enjoyed the homemade tarter sauce. The chocolate pie was excellent but would have been next level if served with a big dollop of fresh whipped cream.
Amazing, perhaps the only place in town that makes their own pasta noodles. Get them fresh by the pound and cook up at home.
Wonderful restaurant making quality, tasteful and comforting dishes in a warm atmosphere. We got big bowls of housemade pasta that were basically like jazzed-up, cheffed up mac and cheese (e.g. creamy pasta with asparagus, shrimp + dill). There are great wine & drink options if you're celebrating, and this place also has really good fries. I love that they have homemade pies (we tried peach and chocolate-peanut butter and they were legit).Definitely recommend this lovely little establishment. :) A real gem.
Delicious food, generous portion sizes, and welcoming environment. Great for a family meal, a date night, or larger friend gathering.
Amazing!!! The food is great, the service is great!! Highly recommend
