Great food, attentive and friendly staff combined with the ambiance of a small town music hall. I was in Eugene for work and got a room in Cottage Grove and the Axe and Fiddle have kind of made Cottage Grove my go to for the next time I'm working in the area. I recommend the nachos if you're really hungry and the chowder if it's chilly.

Stopped by for the first time for a late birthday dinner. We sat outside and even though our server was the only one for the entire place, she waited on us in a timely fashion and was very friendly. The food was excellent, and while we enjoyed sitting outside, next time will be indoors to get a feel for the ambiance. This is a great place for some good food, someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing! My wife had a couple of cocktails off their menu and loved both of them. We will definitely be back!

So good I had to go back. Wonderful dishes & flavors. The smoked salmon soup, Mac n cheese, beer, sweet potato tater tots... So much delicious food. And right in historic downtown. The venue boasts music and shows too. All in a charming environment.

would have been an easy 5 star review had i not seen the cooks physically touch every piece of food with bare hands while serving not washing then touching barehanded another persons meal. watched the line cook with his hands smash what looked like a pulled pork sandwich all together with his hands touching the meat and everything before repeating the process with someones else's food no gloves poor hand washing everything everyone eats was touched by a cook with unclean hands. the food is great the food handling is very poor and i highly suggest a health department check to make sure the cooks know how to properly HANDLE food. until the employees who dont understand food saftey are removed or retrained i will nott be bringing my family back to this establishment which is a shame because the environment inside is indeed wonderful
