This place is a treasure! It’s a true American story. Excellent wine. Independent, family-owned, built from the ground up by the fruits of the family’s labor, without the benefits (or restrictions) of wealthy backing. We were treated to a tasting of amazing Pinot Noirs, a white Pinot Noir/Pinot Gris blend, a Riesling, and an outstanding Tempranillo/Pinot blend under the shade of a beautifully appointed canvas tent amid the rows of vines, cooled by refreshing breeze on a warm day as the sounds of relaxing and diverse Latino music played in the background. The authenticity of the place cannot be understated. Elena‘s connection to the land and to the entire process made for an intimate experience. The tribute to her family’s Mexican roots made for a singular experience among wineries not just in the Willamette Valley, but anywhere. Our tasting felt like a true privilege. We leave here proud members, and look forward to coming back again and again.
We were looking for a quick wine tasting after visiting the aviation museum. Alumbra is a newer vineyard with a five star rating, and it's really close to the museum and airport. The tasting area is in the middle of the vineyard off a small dirt road, very unassuming with a friendly, welcoming vibe. Elena, the winemaker, is wonderful and gave us the family history from how it started up until now. She clearly has a passion for organic winemaking, and I love supporting small businesses like this. We're now wineclub members, and I'm drinking a glass of the excellent 2021 Mitote red blend as I type this out.
Enjoying the McMinnville airshow and some excellent wines today. What a lovely, laid back place. The family that owns the winery is very nice.
Great place to relax and enjoy the view with some vino.
We did a wine tasting paired with oysters and other seafood. Was a fantastic experience and the wine, rosé was awesome. They also have very good, low production Riesling.
Ufff donde empiezo?! All the wine tastings were incredibly delicious! The place is super cute and cozy with a Mexi vibe- feels at home. Elena was so kind and friendly sharing stories with us. My new favorite winery for sure. I can’t wait to bring my friends !
Every single wine we tried last fall was delicious. We ended up becoming members because of Elena's spotlight on the many (often hidden) worker's hands it takes to cultivate great grapes to make great wines. Elena is also very personable and I enjoy geeking out on the science behind winemaking with her.
This unplanned back road stop is one for the records. Amazing wine and hospitality. Air show was a plus, the 5 stars are for the wine, winemaker, and family.
Great wine, and such a cool set up! Will be back again :)
Amazing wine tasting experience. Beautiful setting, delicious wine, and wonderful host! I will be back.
