Award winning food and service did not disappoint. I had the 7 course dinner which featured a variety of flavors and textures all perfectly balanced. The pork belly just melted in my mouth, the muscles were such a delight in the Bouillabaise, and the Wagyu Beef was perfect medium rare with an excellent sear. Did I mention the service? They were attentive, knowledgeable, and facilitated appropriate wonderful evening that included a whale sighting.

The waiter did not know enough about the food to explain what we are ordering, but the food was good. It was loud in the dining area.

Fine dining restaurant near Depoe Bay and Newport. Restaurant has fabulous views over whale cove bay and is quiet and nicely decorated. Warm welcome and attentive care with good suggestions and advice regarding wine pairings and dishes. A choice of a la carte or 5/7 course tasting menus. The meals are beautifully cooked and presented. A rare find on the Oregon Coast.

TL/DR: musty seafood, and weird ambiance. Not the worst meal, but definitely not the fine dining experience we expected.
We came here for our anniversary expecting something special based on the glowing reviews, but left underwhelmed. We did the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings. For context, we had a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night.
The wine pairings were well done, and the signature pork belly with ice cream was a highlight. But the food was under-seasoned overall, the wagyu was surprisingly tough, and the mussels, salmon pate, and even the water had a musty taste. Each plate felt like a cycle of hope, with only a few bites per dish, we kept thinking, maybe the next bite will redeem it, or maybe the next course will shine... In hindsight, maybe we should have said something or just used the salt sitting on the table (which, never a great sign at this level of dining), but it wasn't anything egregious like finding a bandaid in my soup, just consistently kind of disappointing. I get that staffing is tough in a small coastal town, but then maybe work within those limits instead of overselling the experience.
Unfortunately, the ambiance didn’t help: smooth jazz playing in the background, tables so close it felt communal, and the two tops were set so that one person got the view while the other had to watch the dining room.

We’ve been here a couple of times. Spent my 60th birthday there and it was incredible. 7 courses with wine pairings. Service was wonderful, food and wine were terrific and well, the view is amazing. A must try of in your budget.

Our anniversary dinner was perfect. Excellent service and what a delicious meal. Perfect portions, creative flavors and presentation. Oh, and the view is stellar!
My husband surprised me with dinner here on our anniversary celebration since we got married in Depoe Bay (we are from Seattle). We got a table with the scenic view of the water, and that was only the start of the great things amongst others! All of the offerings from the tasting menu were terrific but what really stood out was the pork belly served with coffee ice cream - it was so intriguing! I was pleasantly surprised how well this dish was executed. We might just make this our go-to restaurant each year for our anniversary. I look forward to trying other dishes.

Michelin star style dining tucked away on the Oregon coast. Everything was so good. Beautifully composed dishes and friendly, knowledgeable service. Highly recommend the wine pairings as well as the espresso martini with dessert! Only downside is I should’ve taken my time a little bit more drinking all those delicious drinks, but they were so good. Everything is fresh house-made and perfectly cooked. Crispy pork belly with ginger ice cream was a flavor explosion. Roasted carrots w carrot, yes. Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin was pink and juicy. Wagyu beef was amazing topped with a crispy fried onion ring. Crème brûlée with the espresso martini, delicious. Every single wine pairing was amazing and spot on. What a fun treat, we will be back!

I’ve never written a bad review, we had a pretty lackluster experience here and I’m hoping the feedback will make a difference.
My sweetheart and I visited for his birthday, and we were looking forward to an elevated dining experience. The dining room felt like an office, awkward seating and cold/plain art, with the focal point being a surveillance camera right in the middle of the very small restaurant which killed the ambience and vibe. Being foodies, we were looking forward to spending.a shiny penny on some beautiful food, it found the flavors to be uncomplimentary and just odd combos, not in a delicious way. Most importantly, the server was cold and stuck-up, and forgot to check in with me about the birthday note I made. I had to ask her in front of my partner, and it wasn’t clear to us that we needed to order a desert to receive a special addition for a birthday (never experienced this in a higher level restaurant after spending triple digits!) and proceeded to bring us JUST a candle in a weird, empty tin cup. It was depressing and lame!
We made the most of it and loved the Christmas tree in the lobby, wish we felt like we didn’t waste our money and chose to celebrate his bday somewhere that cared slightly more.

I had the most amazing meal of my life here. The view and ambiance was wonderful and everything about the meal was amazingly delicious! I had a fish dish which featured a chili paste under it that was fabulous. Our server was warm and attentive and recommended a wine that was so perfect with our meal. We plan to go back as soon as possible to hopefully experience this magic again.

Heard this place was wonderful but it kind of fell short. Ordered the 4 course meal. First two courses were great. Third course took a long time to be served and half of it was room temperature (should have been hot). Dessert that followed was a disappointment. For the price you pay, everything should be perfect.

We loved everything about our experience at Restaurant Beck! Each dish we tried was great, especially the carrot salad mid course. Lonna was our server and she was fantastic. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!
I’ve visited Restaurant Beck for the past two special occasions, be that it’s the only fine dining spot on the coast, and the experiences were flawless from start to finish (greeting; professional, knowledgeable server; fantastic dinner service and food). Those were during COVID, so of course I entrusted the restaurant to celebrate a couple friends’ birthdays who had never been. The first server acknowledged the birthdays upon greeting.
The second server that waited on us was not dressed as sharply as during previous experiences. When consulted about the wine list, specifically narrowing down a Cabernet, she responded ‘everything is good,’ which is a clear indicator she was not as knowledgeable about the wine menu and a cue for her to bring someone over who was (she did not). Service was awkward, dropping plates from both sides of customers, overreaching the table to place/remove plates. Food was fantastic as always; the chef/kitchen outdid itself in innovation and execution.
Upon dessert service, we politely declined due to having a special celebration set aside at home. The server returned with two small, empty plates with a lit candle melted to them, delivered them to the birthdays and called it a ‘birthday wish.’ I was mortified. A simple response thanking us for joining them for the special occasion would’ve been more than adequate or a small amuse-bouche with a candle or nothing at all, but in all my years serving as well as being a customer, I have never seen anything so tacky at a fine dining establishment. It spoke volumes as to the servers disappointment of us not ordering dessert, as if $350+ was not adequate for her evening sales.
As much as I appreciate the chef, kitchen, and the menu, I cannot return to the restaurant. There is better service on the coast at lesser fine dining establishments that don’t sour the entire experience and the evening.
I had written this previously for Tock, which was restaurant-facing only, but seeing as that it did not warrant a response from the restaurant, I’ve decided to share this openly for other customers.
