Good service @ Chowder Bowl in Depoe Bay, OR. We stopped here for drinks after whale watching. There was a cute model train on a track that went around the restaurant. Bartender was friendly and courteous. He served us promptly and helped other patrons get seated, and also cash out their bill.

Racist server.Served people who he had seated after us. Finally gave us our menus. We waited then he began to help others at the bar and seat others. We spoke out and he began to laugh. What a shame to treat a Vietnam veteran and his family. Way to ruin the ambiance.

We came in with an hour left to be open and the worker was not happy that we were there, the food was the worst I have had in 10 years!

Chowder tastes like raw flour with a few clam pieces and a few potato chunks. No flavor. Patty melt was ok. Chips were lukewarm.Matt the server did great!

It tastes like 2 mice just burned to death in a sock in your mouth. It was such slow service that we were tempted to leave. The place had a gross smell to it as soon as we walked in. The lady was super rude too. I do not recommend

Small little sit down restaurant. Seated our group of 11 right away. Had chowder bread bowls and a Crab melt. Both were great!

We stopped in for a quick lunch before a whale tour. Kids ordered American standards; parents ordered seafood. The clam chowder was excellent! The fish and chips plate was excellent ! The boys loved their hamburgers (especially the pickles!) and our little girl enjoyed her PB&J with chips! Speaking of chips, they beat out an order of fries by a mile! Perfectly sliced and fried to a crispiness that couldn't be beat! Cody (wait staff) kept our water filled and gave us suggestions on how to beat seasickness out in the bay! Plus, everything was cooked and served with plenty of time to eat without feeling rushed! All in all, a great experience!

Service was great. Food was terrible. We didn't like the clam chowder. The fish and salad combo, the fish was bland. Soggy. No seasonings on anything. The Brakeman sand-which was tasteless. The salads were not crisp. Would not recommend this place at all. The "chips" fries needed salted too.

Mediocre food. Chowder more like potato soup with a few clams. Not much flavor. Need to revisit recipe. Disappointed.Service was good and friendly server. Clean table and nice atmosphere. Clam Chowders Fish and Chipsfor sale

You can get a very nice bowl of chowder here for eight dollars. And there are other good options on the menu including clam strips for kids. The mozzarella sticks are also tasty. We also recommend getting some of their garlic bread. The place has a nice ambience. And the prices are reasonable. You can usually find free street parking nearby.

Yum! Came by for a quick snack while exploring the coast. The clam chowder and garlic bread were just delicious. The waiter was helpful and quick to bring us our food and grab our checks. Definitely a great casual spot!

It’s a shame that with a great location that it is not a quality experience. Menus, salt & pepper shakers & vinegar were all dirty & sticky! I regret eating there. No healthy options. A true greasy spoon. Food was average at best. The Chowder Bowl in Newport is a completely separate restaurant with no connection. That is a great restaurant!
