My family is vegan and we ate here in August of 2024 because they have several great vegan options. I got the Pacific Toast which was totally delicious, one side topped with avocado and super-fresh sweet tomato pieces and the other with humus and sprouts, also with a light and tasty sauce of some kind. Really loved it! I also got the Chocolate Waterfall smoothie, which was incredibly good. Other family members got the Shoreline Sandwich and the Build-A-Bagel and enjoyed them a lot. Personally I loved having a view of the world's smallest harbor as well. I chatted with the owner (co-owner?) and he was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!! Separate vegan section on the menu of course. We returned in March 2025 and Whale Bites Cafe continues to impress! Fresh squeezed orange juice so amazing that I immediately had to buy another one to take home. Vegan/GF waffles are super good and I don’t usually eat or love GF things. Vegan NW burrito extremely delish also. And the owners are so great! If you are vegan or vegetarian and you are anywhere even remotely in the general area (Lincoln City, Newport, etc.), you MUST come here!
Has all the vegan replacements. Vegan whip cream, milks, violife cheese, sausage, & Just egg. Plus a separate vegan menu, so you don’t have to hunt the menu for the options. It’s conveniently right on the main Depoe Bay drag with bay views.
The vegan burrito was amazing. As was the oat milk London fog.
Menu clearly spelt out with items can be made vegan. Had 3 options including vegan and gluten free waffles. The Devil’s Punch bowl can be made vegan with just egg and a vegan aioli. Server was very clear about options and making sure they were vegan when finalizing order. Would come here again!
Amazing vegan options in a place where vegan food is hard to find. The owners also go to great lengths to ensure ingredients are vegan.
We loved the breakfast burrito and bagel sandwich. Got a discount with our whale watch tour next door! Very kind staff and clearly marked vegan options.
Went here a few months ago and loved the vegan options here. The staff was very friendly and nice and the coffee was good too!
Such a great little place to grab breakfast! We had the Apple Fritter Waffles with bacon bits and the Devil's Punch Bowl with sausage - absolutely phenomenal! We will definitely be back!
Dietary restrictions: My other half is gluten free and the GF bread they have is so good!

Wow, if i could give this place more stars I would! We had the salmon bagel, the ham and cheese and the apple waffle. No need for syrup because the apple crumble and sauce is amazing! They were so friendly as well. Also their postcard/ stickers available were adorable. Definitely recommend!

Very good food in a cute scenic restaurant.
Got the vegan Shoreline sandwich which was great and the dipping sauce was even better. Took awhile to get food, but the views and the provided deck of cards helped.

Great food. Worth the stop.
Amazing! View of the bay, cut, cozy, tons of windows. Staff was attentive and helpful. Even the bathroom was nice. The food and drinks were perfect. I had one of the FOUR vegan breakfast options which was amazing. My Omni boyfriend even though mine was bomb. Will for sure go back.
