Range Rider Reviews
I was in Joseph for nieces wedding early September.
I live in NYC and a vegetarian. I ordered the
Portobello burger. Honestly I was not expecting much, ended up being the best
Portobello burger I’ve ever had. The sweet potato fries and the onion rings were amazing. Thank you Range Rider.
Our favorite downtown tavern! Friendly and comfortable. They have really upped their game with delicious lunch and dinner specials weekly.
What a clown show. 4 people in the restaurant and it took 5 minutes to get a menu and drinks while the waiter sat at the bar. We left after 15 minutes of being ignored, never approached by a waiter. A pathetic excuse for an eatery.

Range Rider offers delicious burgers with jalapeno ranch for dipping, providing a good kick. The atmosphere features a cute rustic cowboy setting filled with Old West memorabilia, creating a charming and welcoming environment. The service is polite, fast, and consistent, making it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. The food is consistently tasty and flavorful, with standout options like the chicken strips, which are moist with crunchy breading, and the Portobello burger with goat cheese. The Range Rider burger is also highly recommended as one of the best on the menu.
The restaurant provides ample parking and caters to dietary restrictions, including gluten-free buns available upon request. Vegetarian options include the Portabella mushroom sandwich, black bean burger, soups, salads, fries, sidewinders, sweet potato fries (best when ordered extra crunchy with fry sauce), fried pickles, jalapeño poppers, onion rings, and occasional vegetarian specials. Kids are welcome until 9 pm, with booster seats provided, and there are games like shuffleboard and pool for supervised children. Despite some past issues with phone and online ordering, the restaurant has improved under new ownership, offering great food, atmosphere, and music. It is a fun place to visit, often busy with a lively drinking crowd, and has become a favorite spot in Wallowa County.
