We've been coming to Eugene for over 30 years to visit my parents. This dining experience was, by far, the best we've ever had in Eugene. Started with oysters and bread, both excellent. We then shared the Little Gem salad, with pistachio crumble and a decadent lemon dressing. My wife had the seared scallops, which were amazing but came out only luke warm. I had the Knee Deep Filet minion with caramelized onions and potatoes, the filet was cooked and seared to perfection. We finished with the flourless chocolate cake, topped with delicious raspberry puree. We will be back!

My husband took me to Bar Purlieu to celebrate our wedding anniversary and literally everything was excellent: the food, the service, and the atmosphere. I'd like to give special recognition to our server, Claire, and the rest of the staff who stopped by to wish us happy anniversary, clear plates, bring drinks, or drop off food. The service was top notch and we enjoyed the friendly, genuine interactions with everyone! The food was also fantastic! We ordered, shared, and loved the bread and butter, little gem salad, scallops, and filet. We finished the meal with wonderful decaf coffee and flourless chocolate cake. My husband surprised me for my birthday by taking me here for the first time. He insisted we do the chef's tasting menu and ordered the wine pairing for me. It was quite the adventure, we tried many things we hadn't tried before, all delicious! All of the wine pairings were perfect. Servers were friendly and we chatted with the owner for a while. We liked it so much, we took my father-in-law there for dinner a couple weeks later. Great spot!
Loved eating outside on a warm Summer evening. I got the lamb and mock mojito while my partner got a VCR (drink) and the chicken. Bread and butter is a must!

I LOVE Bar Purlieu, and it’s quickly become a regular stop since moving to Eugene. The food menu changes regularly and is always fresh. My wife and I are vegetarian, so we appreciate that there are always options for us, and that they seem thoughtfully composed. The appetizers were great, including the oysters, Brussels sprouts, and scallops. The mushroom tart and drinks were also very good. However, I ordered the steak frites medium rare, and they were delivered well done. In my opinion that’s unacceptable for a French restaurant at this price point. The flavor was good, but I’ve never had a well done steak when ordering medium rare before. The disappointing thing was I could tell from just looking at them they were overcooked, I’m certain the chef and waitstaff knew as well; and I’m disappointed they didn’t correct their own mistake. Also we had a reservation and they seated us in table right behind the door… not terrible but not great. Overall there are better options in Eugene.
