Tonton Sushi 267 Van Buren St, Eugene Asian Fusion • $$
267 Van Buren St, Eugene

“Very good food. Large portions. The ‘sushi donut’ is enough for a small appetite meal. The rice was well done and flavorful… And coming for me that actually means something because I don’t normally like rice. I was well on my way to food drunk when I got done. It is a food truck, so no real seating, but it had a parking lot and several communal picnic benches. There were several other food trucks in the same area which makes it easier for those who want different food styles.”

“First time at this Texas Road House. Great atmosphere and awesome food. I had originally picked out a cut of Rib Eye from the cold case. I asked for Med Rare and got and got Med well. It was somewhat tender. I wasn't planning on complaining to the manager. I was talking about it to the person I was at dinner with. I was stating how I wished my Rib Eye was as tender as his. As soon as I said that, the manager happened to overhear my conversation. She said she could get me another one and I said no, it's OK. She insisted. A few minutes later, another Rib Eye was placed in front of me. Let me tell you, she picked out the perfect replacement. It was delicious. Thank you for your awesome service!!! We will be back soon”

It seems the owner really tries to be creative with just about everything. Sat at the bar as they was the only place left. No hostess. Another patron said we just needed to head upstairs. “One of my favorite local breweries. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. They brew 'beautiful' barrel aged beers that are delicious - they even got me to enjoy barleywine beer! Their membership is reasonably priced, imo, if you enjoy their beers. If you're looking for more session beers or IPAs (absolutely nothing wrong with that), this probably isn't the place to check out- it's more of a 'slow down and enjoy' type of experience, which is something I think we all need from time to time.... especially when you can make it out to their countryside location.”

Subo Sushi Burritos 541 Blair Blvd, Eugene Sushi • $$

“We traveled up to Eugene for a little getaway this weekend. We stopped in Roseburg Friday, and then stayed at a super cool little cottage in Eugene Saturday. Where we stayed was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! It was within walking distance of so many places to eat and drink! I had a list of like 29 places to go, so I think a much needed girls weekend needs to happen here soon. One of our stops was SūBó Sushi Burritos -South Eugene because that was the one thing I had never tried in my life- a sushi burrito. Jon ordered the Samurai with avocado, and I ordered the Volcano because I love spicy stuff... I didn’t try his, but mine was beyond amazing! The freshness of the salmon poke, crunch of the pickled onion and jalapeño crunches, the heat of the spicy tuna and spicy cream cheese... I honestly could hardly stand the habanero sauce! BUT SO GOOD!”

No cheese, no pico, just purple cabbage & onions with salsa and a lime on the side. My husband loved the burrito- also asada and had french fries inside! Can't remember the name of it. Only like 6-7 menu items to pick from. Overall pretty good, not greasy at all. The chips were super thick and not what I'm used to. The red salsa wasn't good- tasted like pace out of the can. The wait time was around an hour, pretty average for Italian restaurants. This is overall a really good restaurant to choose.Parking: Very busy on weekends”

“Very nice, food and service is fantastic! I have driven past this place for years without considering to eat here! Today I decided to give them a try! I expected a run of the mill restaurant, I was blown away at how nice this place is! Everything from the table to the restroom is very fancy and clean, and the food was just amazing! The outside look of the building is deceptive, the inside is a pleasant surprise! Will be going back often!”

“Ending the not so great day today I ordered my husband and I drinks from the Valley River location and my order was messed up which happens, so I called DoorDash and long story short they weren't helpful at all but the manager from Jamba was so kind and refunded the order. I received the new one with not only what i ordered but some other goodies which was so not necessary but i was overwhelmed with the kindness I was shown. Thank you so much to them for making this overly emotional girl cry in a good way”

“The food and cocktails were delicious! We tried the shitake mushrooms (not to be missed!), buttermilk chicken sandwich (generous chicken, a little heat), the bahn mi (delicious bread and pickled veggies), and skewers (loved the lime and creamy sauce). Of course, sad that Meiji is gone but Eugene is lucky they didn't just close shop altogether!”

“Took my mom there to celebrate her 65th birthday, my 44th birthday, & my 22nd year anniversary with my company. Had an amazing time there back in mid September around harvest time. We caught a couple to do a tour with & were invited to join them after our flight tasting. We enjoyed that as well as the blueberry cheesecake which was by far the very best cheesecake that we had which led my mother to purchasing another to go. It was that good! Hope to be able to return sometime in the future. But want to give a very special thank you to Jodi & Lily for one of the most unforgettable experiences we'll always remember. I wish more of your products made it to San Antonio, Texas.”

“I just want to share my amazing experience here last night. Hailey c was our server and the service we got was more than amazing. I swear we were checked on plenty of times and made sure our table was happy. My niece had lost her tooth during dinner (her first tooth) hailey was quick to get us napkins. My sister in law had asked if anyway possible they had a gold coin that we could exchange a dollar bill for. hailey went and checked and came back with a gold coin. I have been to bjs plenty of times and haven’t had service this amazing. I also want to shout out to the gentleman who brought my nieces the fruit bowl. I feel horrible I don’t remember his name but he was super friendly and talking about how he was also a twin. Both of them were amazing and I can’t wait to go back and hopefully get their service again.”

“I had forgotten how good Domo is! We ventured across town for date night and found out that another restaurant didn’t have what they advertised so I looked on the map and remembered that Domo was near. We were seated immediately and service was excellent all through the meal. The sushi is prepared fresh as you order it and it is always worth the wait! The Vegas roll and the Unagi are my favorites and they are so delicious. The place has so many different options for any different taste.”

“Best $9.99 Petite Salmon dinner I have had in this area. Seriously, even better than some I've had over at the Coast. It was on the menu described as a "Petite" meal, but I couldn't even finish my Rice Pilaf! My Salmon was seasoned & cooked excellently. It came with a fresh Lemon wedge too. It wasn't fishy at all. Flaky, not dry & mouth wateringly good. My Rice Pilaf had slivered Almonds in it (yum) & was al dente, which is not my preference. I don't like most things cooked al dente. The flavor was good however. My Broccoli florets were streamed just the perfect amount & were bathed in little pieces of Garlic, which was a very pleasant surprise. I ordered an additional side salad, which was NOT made with Iceberg Lettuce! Hallelujah!! It was cool, fresh & crunchy, with fresh tomatoes, shredded cheese & croutons on it. Also, it came with a bunch of Cucumber in it, which I gave to my dining partner, because I am allergic. I ordered Blue Cheese Dressing. They were out of Dinner Rolls, so our sweet server graciously offered me buttered thick Sourdough Toast & jam. My Dining partner ordered the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs Breakfast but, he started eating it quickly, so I didn't get a photo, sorry. Our Server was so nice & I had a Shari's rewards coupon, so we got all that for $24.99. Thank you for the Deliciousness!”

“Our friend who lives in Eugene recommended and reserved a table upstairs for nine of us. Nice atmosphere, delightful staff, food was delicious. Everyone ordered different apps/starters and entrees. But my family shared the garlic, butter & wine steamed clams as a starter. Can I tell you how delicious and fresh the clams were. BUT the briny garlicky butter wine sauce was absolutely divine!I really wanted to ask our server to place the remaining sauce in a container with a few crusty pieces of Crostini’s to go! (But I did not) Again a great meal with wonderful people. It was a nice treat while visiting Eugene, Oregon from California.”

“We had a great experience here! The bar is located near lots of activities. We popped in quickly prior to a ballet performance at the theater across the street. I was anxious our food would take a while since bar food is usually slow, but everything was out quickly. We received a sample of an additional beer choice and the owner was present and asking us if everything was up to standards. On our way back we walked by again and saw a karaoke night in full swing. Overall a fun little spot!”

My drink was a little sweet and surprised the virgins are as expensive as the happy hour drinks with the alcohol, but owell. They accommodated a large group and have a great menu, didn't eat anything but had some of the chips and salsa which were standard. I'd come again for group gatherings as the location and tables can accommodate large groups easily.”
