“I was visiting my family in Eugene (I live in California) and I decided to check this place out on a Thursday night. As soon as I walked in, I recieved a warm welcome from Amy and Jennifer. After a couple hours, I fell in love with this place. The next day was my dads birthday, so I brought him here for lunch. The food was delicious, and we were treated like family by the owner and all the cool locals who were there. I returned to this place almost every night during the remainder of my week-long visit. Anyone who has anything bad to say about this place has no idea what they're talking about. Good food, good people, and good vibes. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much for making my visit to Eugene enjoyable and memorable!“

“The service staff feel like friends, and the food is healthy and delicious. Drinks are a bit more expensive but extra special, with unique mixes and flavor that make them worth the $$. Our favorite is the pink drink. We have an excellent experience each time!“

“My home away from home. I’ve worked in a lot of establishments as a host and as an employee at all levels. This makes me a little picky about strange things like, employee retention, a love and involvement from owners, a mutual respect among employees, excellence in service, attention to details. Last but not least- knowing their customers- how they like how what when and where is remembered and held somewhat sacred. Being a regular here is being part of a family as staff or clientele. As long as I have breath in my body and they will have me I will host a show here for my own sanity and well being. More places should pay attention to how these people do business on all ends. “We had an amazing first visit to Akira tonight. The ambiance is unique and endearing. Every offering was exceptional in its own way. We sat at the bar upstairs and felt extremely well cared for by Thor and the other staff members. We enjoyed a paté katsu starter, a delicious hamachi roll, and the pork steam bun tacos. The highlight of our evening was dessert - the mochi was out of this world!“

“Came here 2 years ago when they opened. Roast chicken and potatoes amazing. Fast forward to 5/22 over done chicken steamed then roasted, not garlic mashed potatoes. Not bad but not what I’d been thinking about 2 years prior. Sat at bar…bar tender with long blonde hair in 2 clips made the night and hustled her bum off. Got the warrior game on l, smiled and hustled. Her other bartender in red plaid shirt seemed bothered never cracking a smile….female bartender took care of entire bar! Deserves raise. Will be back for drinks not food sadly“

“I had quite possibly the best salad I've ever had. It was the Gorgonzola and pear with candied walnuts. The flavor was perfection. I don't eat pizza. My boyfriend really enjoyed his. We will be back. He's happy that there's now a pizza place I'll go to.“

“Whole experience was wonderful! The atmosphere, food, drinks and service were all great! The bar tender (didn't catch his name but we went in today 2/15/2025 at 9:30) was fun and a great bar tender! The chicken sliders and parmesan fries were phenomenal. Whole speakeasy experience was a 10/10. Will be coming back!

“Went to Rye for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the food and especially by the cocktails. i recommend the cocktail “the cure”!! my favorite thing by far were the brussels sprouts w halloumi (wish it had more bacon pieces), my steak came out to be more medium well than my request of medium but the chimichurri was fantastic and leveled up the dish FOR SURE! our waiter was a bit interesting and i felt kinda rushed at times but overall decent.“

“I was facing 7 hours in planes and airports, with a very short layover in Denver, so I had to eat something. Unfortunately my stomach was very unstable. The waitress helped me decide on a cup of chicken noodle soup and a cup of hot mint tea. It tasted quite good and I made it all the way to Iowa with only mild discomfort , and not too hungry.“

“It’s been a long while since I’ve had such an incredible experience.We arrived the Gordon Hotel to ride the elevator to the 7th floor to Carlitas.Upon arrival you’re greeted with blue walls and foliage lining a long hallway to the rooftop restaurant.The vibes are chill with minimal natural decor, leather looking barstools and an L shaped bar to the left of the “wait to be seated” sign. They have outdoor seating with a great views of downtown and the river. We sat inside because it was 85 outside. But from what I could se the view was incredible!We chose a window seat with an equally great view!The service was great, despite only having one bartender and one server! The place was clean and inviting.I ordered a passion fruit margarita with a tajin rum and it was delicious!We also ordered the chicken, salmon, carne asada and short rib tacos, all of which were absolutely delicious! Incredibly tender meat and fresh flavorful toppings! The green salsa was also delightful. We will definitely be back to explore the menu. This hidden gem is a true find in Eugene!“
