This place is quite unique and I'm assuming people who are from Eugene probably take it for granted. It is one of the few places I've seen in the USA that has dance music every week, even on weekdays, and sometimes multiple times a week. You can usually only find that kind of atmosphere in large cities of 1+ million people. The bartenders, DJs, and sick atmosphere make this place a rare gem.
My favorite place to play video lottery downtown. they open earliest (11am), and they have a cool pinball machine and a pool table. I never go here at night but it's super chill in the morning and I'm usually the only one in there so all the machines are open.

I've been going to Cowfish for almost 4 years now and it's hands down my favorite bar - not only in Eugene, but in Oregon, and I'm from Portland. This bar actually cares about making sure people are safe, both physically and emotionally, so they can actually have a good time. Even when I come alone, I make new friends! Drinks are always awesome, made by the best bartenders, bouncers care about safety but with kindness, and over the years I've become friends with literally everyone....read full review
