I ordered the Cowboy Sandwich. Half Brisket/ Half Pulled Pork. Slaw on a hoagie roll. Pork was okay, some outside brown mixed in. The Brisket was old, frizzled bits, and dried out. I have never eaten Barbecue this spicy. I dunno. 3 stars for the pork. The slaw was on the bottom of the bun. Kinda soggy. Not fall apart soggy, but, y'know?

Tried a sandwich at Bohemia Mining Days. What a waste of money for $17. Cold meat (barely any meat) stiff bread. It tasted like soy sauce? Hopefully the owner reads reviews and makes it right. It’s in the trash can by the gazebo with 2 bites taken out of it.

Ordered a tri-tip smoked mac and cheese at the Cuthbert. The tri tip was greasy and chewy while the mac was indistinguishable from Kraft mac and cheese from the shelf. Horrible experience.

Bates has been a fixture at the Junction City Scandinavian festival for years. They serve up a variety of bbq sandwiches. Also available is macaroni and cheese topped with smoked meats. Their food is reasonably priced and filling. For a drink I recommend the strawberry lemonade.

Bates catered our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception, and the food was amazing at both! I can’t say enough good things about them! Our guests were raving about the food both nights, and rightfully so. We highly recommend Bates for anyone’s catering needs!
