We came in on a Sunday evening during open mic night, and it was great to hear a wide selection of Eugene musicians. Coldfire has some of the best beer in the state, and a very welcoming environment.
We got lucky and had ColdFire beer and Paper Plate BBQ for lunch in Eugene. I got a flight of beers to try: one hazy IPA, black IPA, red ale, and Japanese brewery collaboration lager. All the beers had excellent flavor balances and distinct profiles: the hazy IPA was dank and tropical, dark IPA was roasty with the IPA end notes bite. The red ale had a sweet, brown sugar-chocolate malt and strong hops flavor, and the Japanese lager was crisp, clean, and lightly fruity.
In other words, you can go here for a good IPA. If you like any other beers, you're getting good flavor profiles and not just weak versons of IPAs (unlike a LOT of other breweries). Highly recommended for a good beer with some great BBQ from Paper Plate food truck.
It's a great place to hang out and relax with a couple of cold brews. Dog-friendly with great space under a big white tent to keep you covered from the outdoor elements. I also noticed a couple of food trucks available for your pallet. Smash burgers and one that sold salads, Ramin the food smelled amazing. If beer isn't your thing, they also sell wine. Great cheerful service and excellent beer. Stop by and let Josh and Tory serve you up some delicious brewskies.
I tried this place out when I learned that they refused to cross the Teamsters picket line at Bigfoot Beverages even though it harmed distribution. They are working class allies.
Besides being good people, they also have good drinks. The peach cider and root beer were great.
And the food carts are good quality. I had some hand pulled noodles and sesame ice cream that I would definitely have again.
The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming.
I'll definitely be back with some friends.
Great staff and elite beers
Great little place to bring your pup and enjoy a delicious beer. Food carts on site. O
Beer and service are excellent
Beer is real good over all. I especially like their Belgium triple. They need better seating as cushion on the inside seats. Hard metal seats don't cut it. Food trucks get a 3.5 star
