Beer is all right. Food is OK. One time I ordered a sandwich with au jus for timed arrival. They had clearly cooked it advance to save time and it was slightly cold.
Amazing wood fired pizza and a great selection of beer. Their curry is great too!
Super pizzas and other Italian dishes, healthy salad options with friendly service and a terrific outdoor area for the dog lovers. I am happy to recommend.
We were so sad to see La Perla go, however, CFU is amazing! Pizza is very similar and staff is great. We order at least twice a month
Even though I wasn't in the mood for pizza, the reviews and pictures were so enticing that I thought I would give this place a try. Boy am I glad that I did! It was easy to find and had on site parking, I just so happened to show up at happy hour (2pm) which meant I got $1 off my glass of wine. The host was super nice and accommodating, she let me pick a table right by the outdoor heater. Although the place was busy I did not wait long at all for a seat or for my food! The Genovese was a pesto based veggie pizza with delicious chunks of mushrooms and Artichokes. I normally don't eat the crust but the texture was SO PERFECT that I couldn't resist leaving any part of it on my plate! The mixed green salad exceeded my expectations as well! It was beautifully presented with radishes and carrot shreds, the portion was huge and the dressing it came with was sweet/earthy perfection! Over all I had an amazing experience, the bar was set pretty high with how well the reviews were, but it was better than I even anticipated and will definitely be going back due to food quality, service, price and atmosphere!
Perfectly crunchy focaccia from their stone oven. They provide crisped garlic to dress your balsamic vinegar/oil dipped bread in. It's a wonderful combination. The caprese salad was robust and very satisfying. You can find some favorite styles and completely unique beers to savor. They have live music some evenings as well as an inviting outdoor area as a choice for seating. On top of all that, they had really nice staff the times we've been there.
Plenty of options for everyone - vegetarians and those who eat meat and a well-curated beer menu. We had the “New Brooklyn” pizza which was vegan (or very close - tempeh and cashew cheeze) and had a great smoky flavor. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, with a big patio for outdoor dining.
Wow! We absolutely loved the food here today. The mushroom barley soup and borscht were perfect on this rainy day. We also ordered a calabrese pizza to share and they brought out a good helping of freshly shaved parmesan that we happily dumped on top. The woodfired crust was cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed tasting a few of the IPAs on tap and I tried the Blueberry Thai Basil shrub in mineral water. It was delicious, not overly vinegar tasting at all. I'll have to try a shrub in a Margarita on the next visit!
Stopped for lunch and had the Irish stew and a new seasonal pizza.Pizxa had hone, ricotta and prosciutto on it. Absolutely fabulous!
We've been excited to try out CFU since it was featured in Eugene Weekly. We went on a Friday late afternoon and were the only customers in the very large restaurant. The food was better than good, it was quite tasty. However it was overshadowed by the complete lack of attentiveness of the wait staff. You would think being the only ones in the entire restaurant that our every need would be accounted for--this was not the case. We had to work hard to get the attention of the staff to take our initial order, to request beverages, and had to search out on our own for condiments and more napkins. Not a single plate or empty beverage glass was ever cleared from our table. Meanwhile the manager/owner? sat at the bar on his laptop or watching TV while his staff was standing by clueless. If you want more business on a Friday afternoon or ever, a little more eagerness from the staff would go a long way! Good food though. Sad to see it not complemented in any way by the rest of the experience.

Visited for the first time on Saturday and Tyler was our waiter. He was awesome, very attentive and great service. Not to mention the amazing food and cheese/beer flight! The flatbreads and pizza are all wood-fired and delicious. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Borsht is a delightful surprise in a cold day! Chock full of fresh vegetables and beef.So good I got a bowl to bring home and enjoyed it again today ?
Pizza & Beer, who needs anything else! They offer innovative combinations. They make several of the ingredient in house. Nice variety of beers from local breweries. Done in service is very good.
I was in town for a conference and wanted a pizza and, after my first choice had incorrect hours listed on Yelp, I ended up at CFU. I liked that the restaurant had a private lot for free parking and a cute outdoor front porch for safer dining now that COVID regulations are coming back. I was immediately greeted by the woman behind the counter making pizza, and a hipster guy, who also turned out to be my water, sat me at a nice little table outside. The menu here is eclectic and interesting. If I hadn't been driving myself, I would've gone for the beer and cheese pairing. Alas, I had to pass. My server was touting the daily soup special, a gazpacho with seared scallops. It was a very hot day, so I ordered it as an appetizer. I was really hungry so I also got a margherita pizza. I was nervous that I'd have too much food, but I did not. The soup was a good size, but the bowl was very shallow, so it looked like more food than it actually was. The soup was good and tasted very fresh, but it lacked seasoning. In fact, everything I had needed salt (and I never add salt to my food). I was disappointed in the size of the scallops, especially since the soup cost $16! That was a very high price based on what was served. Two teeny little scallops were all that came in the soup. I expected much larger sized scallops. The pizza followed shortly after. It was mostly a disappointment. The crust wasn't blackened at all, and the bottom was covered in raw flour. I had to scrape most of it off with my knife, but it was very unpleasant. The tomato sauce was fresh but lacked flavor. There was plenty of mozzarella cheese but since it was house-made, it was very watery, and led to a soggy crust. I was also surprised at the lack of care that went into the basil on top. Stems were included, and two of the basil sprigs had flowered. I was served the flowers. Yuck. The iced tea ($3)was absolutely delicious. It was unclear if refills are free, but I did ask for one and got it. I wish my server would've offered to refill my glass again because it was so hot and I was very thirsty. I can tell the food quality and ingredients are very high at CFU, but my meal for one came out to be $33 before tip. That's quite high for what I got. I understand Eugene is extremely expensive, but I was shocked at how much a lunch for one cost. Maybe I tried the wrong things on the menu. It seemed like most locals were getting beer and not food. I wanted to like this place, and it's a-okay, but not some fantastic culinary find in Eugene.
CFU pizza is my favorite in town. Wonderful atmosphere and great staff. Friends and I love to go for beers, food, and to play table top games. Staff is very accommodating. Can’t say enough good things!
