I was around when Cowfish was birthed upon the sad-eugene scene: it filled a gap where the non-insider-outsider human could feel a breath of relief, remove their proverbial mask of normalcy, and be free with other non-classifiable amiable weirdos while out-and-about in the day or night.
I can attest: Throughout CF’s residency in eugene, I have always known it to be a space where I don’t have to cover-up my atypical weirdness to feel safe and belong.
I’ve been absent from eugene for 9 years now. Upon a recent return to town, I entered CF and felt the same relief as I noted above. 😻💿 👹 📀🛸💽 🫀

We stumbled onto cowfish because we saw a past event poster on a telephone poll.
The lounge was pretty dead BUT this place is so cool and unique that it super didn’t matter. The music was fun and they have games and what not to really make this place a great time.

All of the bad rumors I’ve heard about the cowfish were confirmed last night. I’ve been told that the staff at the cowfish make people uncomfortable. My boyfriend and my friends were looking to have fun and dance but the bouncer said my boyfriend was too intoxicated to enter the bar. This was confusing because many of us were already intoxicated but he let us in. The bouncer ended up letting another man in who was clearly more intoxicated. This strange man ended up making my friend uncomfortable. The behavior we experienced from the bouncer was unprofessional and it felt like he was unfairly judging my boyfriend.

Danced all night, great drink list and deals! The owner isn’t like other bar owners. He’s grounded and wants to/ has created a safe place for everybody to be worry free & that nostalgia feeling we all crave for he offers. Shawn you’re amazing! Got the pleasure to meet the assistant manager Avery also, long story short, she is one of the few amazing people left on this earth. Truly comforting.

Came in for the free spaghetti dinner. Took over a hour to get the food. Can't complain to much as it was free. Just thought it was odd, was this a promotion for the bar or were they helping the homeless? Who knows....
