Good service! Sushi and sashimi taste fairly ok but the portions are extremely generous!

Me and my friend went to Izakaya Jinsei for dinner tonight and we had an amazing experience! Such a cute restaurant. Will definitely be my new go to sushi spot. Very quaint, chill atmosphere. Some standout dishes we ordered were the spicy garlic edamame as an appetizer and the super dragon roll. Service was great. Very friendly employees. The menu was pretty big and had a large variety of dishes, not just sushi. I would definitely come back here again to dine in or for takeout.

Base your expectations on the fact that this is a college town and this izakaya is a couple streets away from the university. There's nothing wrong with that! Our servers were young college kids who worked hard and were attentive to our table! Chef cares about his craft; he corrected a server who set my sushi upside down, which was an extremely minor mistake I didn't mind. I'm sure we'll go again if we're in the area, but I wish they had fans or AC; I'm sure it gets hot in the summer.

Most of the sushi we tried was fresh and tasty. Servers were nice. Worth trying. Somewhat pricey though. The house specialty roll with Hamachi tuna on top was excellent.

If your looking for excellent service this is definitely NOT the place for you! Yearning for soft like butter sushi that melts in your mouth, yeah this is NOT the place for you! Want your food from the kitchen quickly, nope this is NOT the place for you! But seriously, I had to spit out not one, not two but three pieces of sushi that was firm, funky with nasty connective fish bits...... Save your money, save your time and go somewhere else...

Came on Valentine's Day and had a great experience. We were added to a waitlist and called in the estimated time. All entrees were great, with the exception that the spicy tuna roll was just not spicy at all (only reason for 4 stars!). Otherwise had a great time. Server was really friendly and attentive. House hot sake special was great. Bathroom was clean. Coming back!

Absolutely fabulous food. The service was great. Even thought it took a while, they were busy and short of staff. When the food arrived, it was some of the best sushi/sashimi I've had since visiting Japan. Highly recommended!

Yummy in my tummy. A fish dish so delish I wish I could eat some more! If you want a tasty snack I highly recommend the inarizushi.

I have been OBSESSED with their nabeyaki udon for weeks now! It’s the perfect cold weather/ comfort food. The broth is super good!!! I always get take out so not sure how good the in restaurant service is, but I’ve had no issues with takeout.

I miss Izakaya Meiji. I think this place may be owned by the same folks, but it's very different, as befitting, a campus side restaurant that probably caters more to hungry, budget conscious students. It's a cozy environment if a bit drafty in the winter. The large beer with Small sake special was nice. The agadashi tofu was good, although I thought that was a bit too much sauce, which impacts the crunchiness of the cubes. The rice porridge (Okayu, aka Japanese Congee) was nice. I will not ever get the Yaki udon again & advise you to stay clear. Service was... kind if a bit inconsistent. I'm gonna go back and try ramen and their onagiri, The flavored water was delightful.
