I love the tea, and Josh is very helpful. The only downside is that even if you live in the same state, you're looking at a week delivery time.

Taking a trip from Texas to visit different parts of Oregon, I searched around for more traditional tea shops. Very happy to have put J-Tea on my list. I wish I had given myself more time to just browse the store. The shop is bright and open, with open shelves clearly labeled and full of possibilities. I grabbed three different teas; Xia Guan 8633 Raw Puer, Spring Ming Mei Green, and Ah Lin Jade Oolong. Sadly, I have only been able to try Xia Guan 8633, but it was a great session. In my opinion a nice woody tea that reminds me of the large Firs I got to see while I was there. Just a hint of citrus for me which helped balance it out well. I can't wait to try the other two. I also want to thank the owner for being very kind and involved in helping me pick out my teas. If you go in knowing your preferences I am sure he can find exactly what you are looking for. I'm sad that this shop if across the country or I would be there all the time.

I recommend coming into the store to chat with the owner Josh and try out the Stand & Slurp events! Great tea for the price and quality if you are searching for better quality loose and whole leaf teas.

This is the best place in town to get truly high quality tea. J-Tea offers a variety of top notch oolong, pu-er, aged teas, as well as some black, green, and herbal options. He sources tea directly from Taiwan primarily and is extremely knowledgeable about the products he sells. If you are interested in getting into higher quality teas, this is an excellent place to start. He has introductory teas at a decent price, but even the higher priced teas pay off when compared to what you can source around town. I definitely recommend going in store and meeting the owner, Josh, and try out one of the Stand & Slurp events where you can try an assortment of teas with other enthusiasts. He also sells Gaiwans (for gongfu style), cups, and does special tea sealings that are reasonably priced.

J Tea is an amazing local gem. Try their sample selection for delicious teas you never knew you’d like! Everything is high quality and delicious. The OG favorite is Eugene Breakfast- a highly caffeinated black tea. But all the teas are hand curated and delicious.

I recently went out of my way on a road trip to visit J-Tea, and was very excited to sit down and drink some tea! Upon arrival the owner informed me that there is no regular tea service during the summer. This is contrary to the Google Map listing, which indicated that the "Dine-in” option was available, and the first photo shows people sitting down and enjoying tea. Despite my disappointment, I ended up buying a couple of teas the owner recommended, which I’ve been enjoying at home - he clearly knows his stuff! I’m a former small business owner - used to have a bike shop for 14 years - so I know how tricky it can be to stay on top of online business listings. In reality though, it takes just a few minutes to make these updates. I’d like to come back when I can indeed sit down and sip some tea, but how can I be sure when this is offered again?
