So excited to try the wine & experience the views & atmosphere we had heard so much about. We were on a family vacation, my husband, daughter, son in law & granddaughter drove up to Kings Estate & unfortunately didn't get to try the wine. We weren't greeted with a Welcome or smile, but told in the entry way to wait for a gentleman who would take us to the patio for tastings. We waited quite a while, the Gentleman came in asked what we wanted, left to go back to patio. After another hefty wait we decided to leave. Wow, rather disappointed when visiting from another state & all we received was scowls & frowns. Went down the road to Sweet Cheeks Winery!....It was phenomenal!
We walked up and attempted to enjoy a wine tasting on vacation. The first time we were greeted was 5 minutes after we arrived. The gentleman did not seem interested in serving us (my 7 year old daughter was with us). After we were looked up and down, he told us his partner would be with us shortly. Another 5-10 minutes and the partner came up, gave us the side eye and asked if we were all together (my parents, husband, daughter and I). He then said he would try to find something outside. He went on to serve and interact with the 2 tables on the patio. Eventually, we decided to just leave. I cant speak to the quality of wine.
Exceptionally nice location. Very generous charcuterie. Wines overall are structured.
King Estate is truly a gem in Oregon! The views are absolutely breathtaking — overlooking rolling vineyards and fields of lavender, it genuinely makes you feel like royalty. The wine selection is beyond exceptional, with something for every palate, and the food is just as impressive. The fresh butter and honey, sourced straight from their own farm, add such a special, thoughtful touch to the dining experience. It’s also very kid-friendly, and the staff are warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. A must-visit destination for wine lovers and families alike!
This winery, equipped with excellent infrastructure, operates only on weekdays and does not accept guests on weekends. While it’s a bit inconvenient that you have to provide your credit card information upfront when booking online, it’s still a place worth visiting at least once.
Aside from the dining area, there’s virtually no shade, which is a bit disappointing. The interior space is rather ordinary, but once you’re seated at a table overlooking the surrounding scenery, you can feel a sense of perfect tranquility.
They only serve light bites to accompany the wine tasting, so I ordered cheese and a few simple dishes. The flavor of the house-made butter and honey was delightful, and the foie gras spread on toast with additional toppings paired beautifully with the wine.
Wine tasting costs $35, and other menu items are also quite pricey. Overall, the value for money isn’t great, but it’s a decent spot for a special outing.
As for the wine itself, my personal taste found it somewhat flat—lacking a distinctive terroir, depth, or kick. I probably wouldn’t return, but I’d still recommend visiting at least once.
Good experience
I-5 exit 174 truck route
Truck drivers should not go the other route.
They have weight scale onsite .
As always great experience.. amazing service, great wine, and amazing food.. very good service, knowledgeable server. Calm, quiet, and serene environment. Best view ever. And electric car charging stations are free.
Do you have an anniversary, guests from out of town? date night, this is the spot for you. The drive out is lovely. The setting spectacular and the food exquisite.
It is spendy however you can do the wine tasting at the bar and snacks but treat yourself minimally once a year to lunch. This is a local family who make the wines served here.
Younger? Economically challenged? Try the North by Northwest shelved wine - it is almost as good!
I have one more picnic recommendation for you and that is the Sarver vineyard, half the distance and a fraction of the cost. Locally owned
Beautiful setting and great wine!
Snobby staff with bad attitude

Investment group owned by Ed King is pushing to develop/open a gravel mine in the community of Oakridge, Oregon that would have devastating effects to the ecological and social landscape of the area.
Not worth the money. You can’t even drink anything they actually produce at the estate. It’s just overpriced wine they bottled from grapes purchased across Oregon. Better options close by with better quality for the price.
400+ acres of grapes on the property and not a single tasting option gives you the opportunity to taste anything grown there. We did the “elite” flight and the best pour was a Merlot from Washington. Very weird experience.
Large winery estate located in the outskirts of Eugene. Property is stunningly beautiful, around 1000 acres. Very hospitable staff, and we loved all the wines we tried. Given the property, one may expect an air of pretention, but all the employees were incredibly kind and welcoming. Our server was nice enough to provide us with a reinforced case box for the other wine we'd purchased so that we'd be able to bring the wine home on our flight. Nice variety of whites and reds, and they also source grapes from Washington and Southern OR. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area; you won't be disappointed.
We tried different types of wine, each with different tastes. For those who love wine, I recommend you to try it. The staffs are good and give good advice about drinking wine.
