Marche is a place where I’ve dined and was satisfied in the past. I was on a birthday trip and decided to treat myself. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I had a wilted green salad, was very UN-impressed with the cucumber-watermelon soup, and the stale bread I sent back 3 times and finally gave up. Service was lousy. I’ll never go back to this overrated and overpriced establishment.

We had our anniversary dinner when visiting our son I Springfield. Excited by the reviews, but disappointed by actual experience. Just nothing special; a typical restaurant. Made reservations well in advance and yet we were seated by a wait service station. Requested to move and was promptly accommodated. Linguine was huge portion, but no real wow factor. Pork chop, steak, pizza were fine. Drinks were stingy Indoor tables were noisy with a lot going on from the open kitchen. Parking is in a free lot that is packed. Being from out of town, the address was confiding to find. Not a special evening for us.

It had been years since we last dined at the original, smaller 5th St Marche and we had good memories. But this was a “new” restaurant for us - a fully renovated Marche - so I ordered a simple Margherita Pizzetta - not a big culinary challenge. The other two diners received their fried oysters and linguine plates early. When my pizza arrived, I looked from it to our waiter in disbelief that he brought this out. A third of the crust was a crispy carbon black as was the underside. I explained this was not edible and should have never left the kitchen. He apologized and in time I had a replacement perfectly baked pizza. On exiting the restaurant, I asked the hostess who seated us to please pass along to the house manager that my burned pizzetta should never have been presented to a customer. Something is very wrong with the training of the waitstaff and kitchen if plating up a burned order is something worth attempting. Within a few steps of heading out the door, someone from management (no name tag) caught up with me to offer a sincere apology. Good effort (the replacement pizza was fine) but one rarely gets a second chance to make a first impression. It should never have happened.

A very nice place to go out with friends , family or a business meeting , it’s a quaint space and not loud. Good food, drinks and service. The location is perfect, next to the 5th st market and free parking.

Dining at Marche has always been something to look forward to during our drives from Washington state to the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland - but sadly this year’s experience was a big disappointment. Although the Perroquet cocktail was superb, everything else was mediocre at best - dry over baked baguette, salad with little or no dressing so basically flavorless, steak was good, but needed the chimichurri that used to come with it -the demi glacé served now was just too heavy and overpowering. I left feeling ripped off given the price of this less than satisfactory dinner.

I rarely give bad reviews but I have to admit that we had a terrible experience. The hostess who seated us did a great job of apologizing that our table was not ready, but then we waited an extremely long time for our waiter to appear. Even then, he did not introduce himself, apologize for the delay, or wish us Happy Mother's Day. He barely made eye contact. Our food was seriously delayed and arrived cold. I'd like to give the restaurant a decent review based on the food, but presentation based on the service made this difficult. Eventually, we had to flag down our server B(C) and ask for the check. Even then, he took another order from a large table before returned our credit card. I guess you can say that the server can make or break your experience but I have no desire to return. It would have helped if he had made eye contact and made any kind of apology for the lack of service that we received.

I had high hopes for my first visit to Marché, drawn by its reputation and charm. While the ambiance and menu met expectations, my overall experience left me feeling unwelcome and out of place. From the start, I felt uneasy due to judgmental glances from the gentleman behind the bar, which persisted throughout the meal. I had set up my phone on a small tripod to take candid photos of myself—something I’ve done in other fine establishments without issue—but I couldn’t shake the feeling that my actions were being scrutinized. Later in the evening, after the patrons I’d befriended had left, the bartender approached me with questions about my photos, implying that I might be invading others’ privacy. While I assured him I could crop others out of the frame, the conversation shifted into unsolicited advice about where I should take pictures, accompanied by a dismissive tone that felt personal rather than constructive. By the end of this interaction, I was visibly upset. I tried to speak with a manager about the experience, but despite their kindness, I left feeling as though I was at fault. As someone who frequents many fine dining establishments, I’ve never felt as judged or unwelcome as I did here. It’s unfortunate because I truly enjoyed meeting other patrons and appreciated the setting. However, the lack of tact and timing in addressing concerns left a lasting negative impression. I hope Marché reconsiders how they approach interactions with customers in the future. A more proactive and constructive approach could make all the difference.

I’ve always loved stopping into Provisions for a bowl of your fabulous French onion soup. However, today I was really disappointed!!! Did you change the recipe? This time it tasted like a heavy dose of beef bouillon and onion, not like before with the slight sweetness and subtle notes of sherry. Please bring the original recipe back.

I’m a long time customer at Marche but quality and value have noticeably slipped over the last year or so. We had a small office group (6) early evening holiday dinner this week and were disappointed with slow service (over 1.5 hrs from being seated to entree service…appetizer orders forgotten) and mediocre to average cuisine (some items obviously precooked and cold). Restaurants are incurring higher costs and necessarily charging higher prices but we’re paying more and getting less. It was mildly irritating to have a 22% tip mandated on top of higher prices, slow service and spotty cuisine, a percentage I’d gladly have increased if the dinner experience had been better (where’s the incentive for good service if a generous tip is mandated no matter what).

Arguably the best restaurant in Eugene. Food and staff were outstanding. This restaurant has the best cost to quality food I have ever seen. Been there forever. In a location that has been redeveloped that is a fun collection of shops, restaurants and hotels.

Marché delivers a refined outdoor brunch experience that feels like a brunch in Paris. The patio seating on this sunny Saturday morning was perfect--breezy, inviting, and just the right amount of guests; lively but not loud. Intimate but not isolated. For brunch, the eggs benedict with house-cured ham were the winner. The poached eggs were perfectly runny, resting atop the most tender, flavorful ham, all draped in a velvety hollandaise. Another hit was the Boudin Blanc, with a perfectly spiced and cooked sausage with a delicious dijon sauce. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen's dedication to quality, local ingredients and classic technique. The wine list is a standout, showcasing French and Oregon vineyards that included a sparkling wine that made perfect mimosas. Marché's brunch is the epitome of chic - relaxed elegance, where impeccable food, wine, and service come together seamlessly.

We really enjoyed our dinner here the other night. All the flavors were spot on - from the appetizer salads, to dinner, to dessert! The service was professional, friendly and prompt. (Thanks Mikiel and team!) We will be back!

We had high hopes for dinner on July 14. Uneven service and food. Our waiter was over burdened, slow to respond, and twice apologized for their short staffing. When clean dishes were stacked for use the employees banged them about loudly and we had to stop talking for a minute. Several of the dishes were very good, but the vegetables on two of the plates were either overcooked and limp or too hard to cut with a knife. Oddly no one in this French restaurant could/would speak a word of French in greeting or good-bye.

We came here at the recommendation of friends, who said it was the best restaurant in Eugene. We started with drinks, a margarita, a gin and tonic, an equinox and a glass of Secret Squirel Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which were good and reasonably priced. For mains we shared the mussels, which were small and delicious, if s bit salty, the rockfish, which was good, and the lamb tahini, which was disappointing, in that it was a bit dry and overcooked and on the small side. The desserts were the best part of the meal. We had the strawberry cake and the chocolate torte. Service was slow, which was attributed to the server being new and the restaurant being crowded.

We chose Marche because it was within walking distance of our hotel and we were very pleased with everything about the experience. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the staff was friendly and very helpful, and the food was outstanding. We went back the second night and had the same experience. We had a completely different meal and everything was perfect. We will return when we visit Eugene again.
