Nelson's Taqueria and Nelson’s in the Whit

We ate here tonight for the first time. Carne Asada dinner and Fajitas. Terrible….everything tasted the same. Margaritas were terrible as well. So disappointed. We looked forward to going there for quite awhile. Our waiter was great. We will never return. Don’t see them lasting long.

First time to Eugene to visit a friend. Nelson’s was a delight for a first meal. Food was delicious (Nelson’s burrito) and service was excellent (Thunder)!! I hear they are top rated in Eugene and i can i see why!!

Service was crazy fun. Nelson is not just a taquero, he’s friendly and makes you feel welcome.
Great food! Good variety on menu items.

it was somehow my first time @ Nelson’s in the whit & will definitely be coming back :) andy & thunder were absolute babes and took care of me and the bro very well! as a service worker i love supporting local spots especially when the staff are so lovely. the margs hit different and we loved the food, thank y’all!

We have never had a bad meal here. Service is always friendly and so helpful, food is delicious and the margaritas have so many variations we never get bored. Do yourself a favor check out Nelson’s for Eugene’s best Mexican fare.

10/20/24: Update to add that the previous review was written when they were in a different location. I haven't reviewed their current location. Also want to add that the owner reached out to me after my initial review kindly sharing what they've done to change and improve things, and also checked in on us attentively for our next few visits.

While we have generally enjoyed our food from Nelson's, the quality/ flavors vary. The last meal I had here was on the bland side, and as I had already turned down a salsa option our server did not return to the table for over 10 minutes despite my attempts to get their attention. The first time we dined in we had a very attentive server, despite how busy it was, but the last time we felt ignored. I ended up packing my food to go so I could heat it and add seasoning at home.
It is pretty noisy in Nelsons, they haven't done much as far as I can tell to dampen the noise to create a more comfortable atmosphere. It is also dark and cold inside, not something I find inviting. While I was struggling to get my server's attention, another server came to talk to the table next to us, making conversation with her butt in my personal space, shouting so her friends could hear her. Overall, our experiences have been mixed.

Poor service, food was super bland and the marg was pure lime juice. Owner was nice tho, I just can’t see myself going back or recommending anyone else go here.

I was there for a business meeting and hoooo man outstanding service from the drinks to the food good environment indoor and outdoor clean bathrooms too unfortunately my food was not there I asked for fish tacos and they were seemed to be previously frozen fish reheated on the microwave tastes old and flavorless besides the queso fresco and some other produce nothing else to save I left hungry and disappointed some other dishes might be better or not one thing for sure I'm not coming back
