This is (was) one of my favorite food trucks in Eugene. The fried chicken was to die for, and then the onion rings: my goodness, all black peppery and crunchy and fresh cut sweet.
Sadly, it seems like this place is dying. I'm so sad!
We've been to Pyre three or four times now and truly recommend it to anyone! The chicken is cooked to perfection, and even a picky five year old knows how good their food is. The onion rings are some of the best we've ever had. My husband is from the South and this is one of his favorite spots. You are missing out if you haven't tried them yet!!
In a town of subpar fried chicken, an oasis rises from the fryers of mediocracy. Real fried chicken. With real spice. Don’t read that lightly. The spice level is not to be trifled with. Pyre does fantastic work keeping the meat moist and the breading crispy, and providing proper spice if you need it.
