I and my wife got our flu vaccinations today from A.J. at the Safeway on 5341 Clayton Rd. We were extremely pleased with the efficiency of the staff and A.J.'s expertise and pleasantness while giving the inoculation. Neither of us felt a thing. A plus, is you get a 10% coupon off of a shopping visit at any Safeway.

Safeway/Albertsons need to add a pin to use rewards. My number is being used in multiple states by random people. I have been told the only way to change this is to change my phone number, that is not going to happen. You are about to lose a lot of customers as I was told this is an known issue by customer service.

I recently moved to Valdez Alaska from Seward. I have always loved my local Safeway and especially in Seward and all other Alaskan locations. Having been in Valdez for about 6 weeks now, I see a wealthy and hardworking pipeline community, great city organization, deep pride, and year-round commerce. As you can imagine, I experienced great disappointment when stepping into the Valdez Safeway. My first impression was utter disbelief. An overflowing trashcan at the store entrance consistently even in the morning, a dirty interior, clutter all over, a horrible layout, and shelves so empty I seriously thought maybe they were going out of business. I truly had to hold my breath and bite my tongue on several occasions. I saw signers sitting on the floor while signing fixtures, an employee appeared to be high as a kite while slowly putting one yogurt container at a time on the shelf in an aisle that was completely empty except 4 gallons of milk! Customers shop from the stacks and carts because shelves are empty. Merchandising trash all over the floor with no one around. So many carts and floor stacks regularly down every aisle I actually have to move stuff around just to walk down and aisle...forget about actually trying to shop. Cashiers resting their feet on the belt! No management presence whatsoever throughout the building. Today we tried to pick up medication that we called in to be transferred two days ago and upon arrival, the Pharmacy was still closed at 10:30, they are supposed to be open at 10. 2 weeks ago I started ordering all of my dry goods from Amazon. I have also noticed that the prices are higher here even on the road system and this location seems to have less coupons to choose from or they are out of what's advertised. I am not sure what is going on in this location but having prior corporate retail management experience and grocery experience I could no longer hold back and feel the need to inform you. I see that employees seem to brag to the community on social media about being one of the most profitable stores in Alaska. Not something to be proud of at all considering the state of the store. Here are some suggestions, even though you have probably heard them all before. I tried to submit a form, even called to see if I could email my concerns but it appears I can only give honest feedback by leaving a bad review. -Consider having truck deliveries late in the evening. This would allow you to add a night crew or expand upon a night crew to replenish shelves, so the store is ready for business when it opens. A smaller day crew can still exist to replenish and work on special projects to assist the overnight crew with productivity. This entire process MUST change for this small location in order to drive sales and improve service. -With how empty shelves are and how quick product turn is, if you can adjust delivery times allowing you to add an overnight team, you may be able to increase your sales by 30-40% as you would move through more product and increase orders necessitating additional deliveries. (just my guess based on observations) This would also mean shelves would consistently be full and aisles clear for customers who want to shop. This would also lower your risk of slips, trips and falls. -Bakery and deli coolers and tables are nearly depleted by about 60% during every visit. Potential for additional sales. -Maybe less household items and seasonal goods allowing for more groceries since this is the only store in the community. -Employee engagement seems nonexistent so maybe an employee award or engagement program. A simple standardized "Thank You" specific card or an extra "Discount Card" can go a long way at improving morale, dress code, service and overall increasing will/skill. -I know in these communities staffing is challenging. Consider significantly improving pay and benefits. I myself will need to return to the work field in September and even considered Safeway until I realized the hourly wages are so low and the employee discount is only 10%. Th

The new location in AZ off the 303 & Peoria- We went to the Starbucks inside and Emma G. was such an awesome barista we just had to shout her out here! Our drinks were amazing and her customer service personality was spot on! We will definitely be back to this location! (love, the girls going to get our nails done lol)

The "new" Safeway in Hercules is the WORST. Not all of them, but MOST of the staff are awful. They are rude, lack professionalism, and have very poor customer service!!! I went in last week to shop, only ONE line open, but 2 lights were lit, suggesting the line was open. Everyone kept going to the line that had no one there, when I suggested to the employee, a lady standing near, that maybe they should turn off the light so that folks would stop standing there for 2 min waiting only to have no one working that line. GEO, went OFF, yelling and rolling his eyes upset that I suggested it. He and I went back and forth, he was so upset that I said anything and kept yelling... Wait what!!! The other folks in line were saying, wow he is RUDE. Then I guess a manager, or shift lead came out to pushing him into office, I assumed she was going to talk to him about his behavior and then maybe come out and apologize for his actions. Nope, far from it, she came out and opened up a line and just stared at me. No apology no smile. I called to report this a few days later. I called 3 times and asked for the Manger Cherise (sp) and was put on hold for 10 min only to NEVER have her come to the line. I am now trying to contact the Director of the store Karl Moore, so I contacted the Corp. Office and left a message...we shall see. GEO's behavior was inexcusable. I spend way too much money there to be treated so bad. Lucky's is right down the street.
