An unusual place where patrons line up at the end of the bar for service. Dog friendly on their patio. Great Prime Rib.

I used to love coming here for lunch several years ago, as the food was pretty good and service always great. I was in the area today and decided to grab some lunch. There was maybe 10 other people, max. I was not greeted, grabbed my own menu, was not offered a drink and was never asked if I wanted to order food. Sat there for 10 minutes while the bartender casually talked to other patrons, not taking any orders or making any drinks. It’s like they don’t want to make money. I decided to not waste my mine and left. On my way out, the bartender was smoking outside for the second time that I was there, a whole 10 minutes. I’ll stick to the Highlands from now on if I’m in the area, service there has always been great.
Chill tavern on the south side. Large seating area indoor and outdoor. Pool, lottery and video games available. Service was excellent from the bartender Mykey. Large menu with daily specials.
Nice place, strangers treat you friends as do the bar tenders.
Good spot laid back atmosphere Good food nice place if your looking
Fish tacos are amazing!
Great service, and awesome food! They make drinks right!
Went in there at 6:40pm on April 9th with my girlfriend and the day shift bartender made me very uncomfortable. As a black man I wouldn’t recommend she seemed very condescending and wouldn’t serve me or my white girlfriend I’m pretty sure it’s cause of my skin color since we’ve been there before and she wouldn’t even take her ID. 100% wouldn’t recommend
Simi of the path chill spot.
Bout a week ago, we went in for my bf's bday.. ordered food to go, and she wouldn't serve him a drink while waiting. Even tho I was designated driver and we weren't gonna be staying there. He had been up over 24 hours and was tired... Plus a lil buzzed, but then she offered me a drink.. the whole point of me not drinking is so I can drive.. just a lil frustrated, we like the food there, but the whole thing frustrated and confused me.

I debated whether or not to share this experience, because I know I appeared rattled when I came in, but given a few days to think on it, it really wasn't OK.
I felt so uncomfortable the last time I was at the squirrel. I have PTSD and was having a panic episode when I walked in. I was polite, quiet, and just looking for a safe space to sit and charge my phone.
While I was sat at the bar counter, which was mostly empty, I was completely dressed down by the bartender. It was very clear that they thought I was a problem from the moment I sat down. I was carrying a shopping bag, which I was told to move off the seat next to me because someone might want to sit there (the entire row of bar chairs next to me were empty, no one was desperate for a spot to sit), and before I even had a menu, I was told I needed to order something if I was going to sit there, I assume because I only got a water to start.
I use to serve and bartend, so I can understand being leery of someone who appears anxious, but the way they talked to me was unwarranted. It was very clear to me that they were displeased that I was taking up space at their counter and they probably have issues with unhoused people, which I am not, but I was treated as such.
I ordered a $15 steak salad that was dry, chewy and subpar, I left them a twenty without waiting for change just so I could leave. Here's another tip: treat people better. They know who they are.

My girlfriend and I finally tried out the flying squirrel for the first time to check it out and we walked in sat down at a booth and were completely ignored by all the employees. This went on for awhile until we finally decided to leave. I would give zero stars if I could and would not recommend this place to anyone.
