I had the Eugene pad Thai. It was probably one of the best pad Thai's I have ever had! I was a little nervous about having peanut sauce on it, but it really made the dish fantastic. I was a little underwhelmed by the amount of vegetables. There were literally two pieces of carrot three pieces of green beans and two pieces of broccoli.I don't live in Eugene, but when I come back I will for sure be heading here for a pad Thai.
I have never been disappointed with the food, the Eugene pad Thai is great. The veggies are always nice crisp and fresh, the peanut sauce in my opinion is addictive I love it I always get extra! I feel the spicy levels are accurate and I love that you have the choice of a spicy peanut sauce or regular. I feel the staff could be a bit more attentive and little nicer but not the worst I've ever experienced.
We can only attest to the delivery part of Ubon Thai and it was quite good! Of course that was through GrubHub so we can't really review the staff. We ordered the Pad Thai chicken, Pad Kemao (you might see this as Kee Mao at other places) chicken with medium spice, and the Pad See-Ew with beef, one step down from medium spice. My opinion of the Kee Mao is that it was good, the heat sneaks up on you so that you don't think it's hot enough at first but then it gets hot enough I was drinking water every other bite. My husband thought his Se Ew was just ok. We both felt that while the serving sizes weren't as big as they should have been for the price, the veggies were fresh and crisp. The Pad Thai was fairly standard, though my husband felt that it was too sweet. Overall, we were satisfied, but disappointed in the correlation between price and serving size. Normally I am able to divide my order in half for an extra meal but I didn't feel that these gave me that option.
Thankful for delivery service. The portions were a bit smaller than I thought they would be. The food tasted ok but did not get me very excited about having takeout. Lettuce wraps need to be assembled, I found out. Not a big deal but with all the sauces and small containers I just guessed on what to wrap into the spears of the (very fresh) romaine. Even with the variety of items we chose, nothing stood out as exceptional. For the four of us it was $78 (includes the delivery fee).
Absolutely love the pineapple fried rice and pineapple curry. Amazingly delicious Thai flavors and the spicy is perfect. If your a hear seeker like my love try the number 6 you won't be disappointed.
I've been there before and the peanut curry is out of this world good. The staff seem nice. When they ask American spicy or Thai spicy, know that Thai is [email protected]#@#$ HOT!!!!!!!
We ordered the special pad Thai, calamari, and chicken fried rice. The food was great, hot and delivered super fast! Can't wait to try this place in person.
Thank You Yelp Recommendations!! I would never have found this place on my own. The building was once a house that was converted to an Ecuadorian restaurant. The new owners renovated it again leaving a lot of the artistic touches intact such as the floor tile and the garden seating water fountain. The atmosphere inside is very refreshing with plants, Art Deco and plenty of space to move around. As you walk in there is a large menu board. After making your choice, go to the counter, order for dine in or take out. The outdoor seating looked very inviting, like sitting in a garden. I don't care for outdoor dining myself, but even I was tempted because it was green and luxurious. Instead, we found a small private inside table for two and enjoyed the scenery. We both ordered the regular Pad Thai with chicken, mine came with the spicy sauce. I also had the Thai Iced Tea which is a very sweet, refreshing cold tea. The spring rolls had crisp flaky crust with a nice selection of veggies. They came very hot with a cool sweet dipping sauce - very flavorful! The Pad Thai was spectacular in that the peanut sauce was spot on for flavour and heat, the bean sprouts were fresh and raw with a garden fresh crisp and the rice noodles were cooked to a perfect consistency. The chicken was cut into bite size pieces and cooked tender. I poured the sauce over everything, mixed it together and slipped into Pad Thai nirvana. It's almost embarrassing for me to get this excited about food, but, holy cow! I'm going back!-btw, Bill and Pla no longer own the business, they were bought out two years ago.
Friendly service, wasn't too busy, great food and prices! Thanks for the mojito and extra brown rice
The ingredients were fresh and tasty, but my food was bland. I ordered a shrimp and pineapple pad thai. It didn't have cilantro (which I normally expect in pad thai) and it came with a side of peanut sauce (which I do not normally expect). The peanut sauce was good, but when I added it to my noodles, it didn't really taste how I expect pad thai to taste. It was overall a mediocre, slightly disappointing experience.PS Bathrooms are tiny and not plus-size friendly or handicap accessible.
Exellent Thai food here. The massaman curry i had was great! They don't play around with the spicy scale either! Their courtyard dinning area is quite nice. Lots of plants all over for jungle type feel. Prices were reasonable, the drinks are strong, and the staff are very personable. I would recommend this place highly if you are in to Thai food.
Was lost and stumbled on to Ubon Thai and glad I did. The pineapple curry was the best I have every had. 1 caution trust the 1-6 scale of hot and yes the 2 is hot. Coconut shrimp appetizer also great. I'll be back for sure
Love all their spins on Pad Thai. Xtra Veggie pad thai? check.Mushroom pad thai? check.PINEAPPLE pad thai? check. The tempeh is a local + organic. All the mango things are tasty too.
They don't know how long it will take before orders are ready and the clerk at the front desk removes his mask from the appropriate position frequently to increase the spread of Covid-19.
Smallest portions I have ever seen. Was excited to eat dinner here tonight and ordered the special eggplant stir fry with chicken to-go. Got home and was super disappointed that the small to-go container was only half-full with food. I ate half of my wife's dish, am still hungry, and now have to go somewhere else to make up for it.
