Zagwe's is small in the best way, a uniquely intimate dining experience. We were served by the owner, the love they put into the food is apparent. Come with friends and order the family combo. When you have a passion for what you do it shows, an easy recommendation.

Zagwe’s is cute and tucked away, with some of the best food in Eugene. We shared the family combo meal and loved it! The food is made with love and care. Will be coming back again!

Very good food, friendly service and great ambiance. We enjoyed the family choice with a three meal selection - would recommend that option, was delicious.

We were the only customers. We were told by a woman that was on her phone to sit anywhere and she handed us menus and walked away. We never even got water. I guess talking on the phone was more important.

The service was slow even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. Half of the cocktails on their menu were unavailable. We ordered all three vegan entrees, and none of them impressed me.

Absolutely stunning atmosphere and incredible food. Super friendly owners. The perfect place to go with a group. After my first time here yesterday will be adding this spot to the frequent list!!

They are not ever open and parts of their restaurant is empty even though their Google hours say they’re open. I’ll delete this review if / when they reopen, just want to let everyone know

Edit: this place has now become zagwes . I love the fermented flatbread thing they make which name I forgot, it comes with the dish I ordered- has a nice flavor similar to sourdough. And they throw in a free samosa type thing too. Updated from previous review on 2024-07-25

Zagwe's was so delicious and a little oasis in the Whiteaker. Our table loved the food and the family style. We plan to come back!

This place is a gem. The food was incredible, and the staff was as kind and friendly as can be. My friends and I got the combo plate with all three of the vegan options that were on the menu and we were blown away by all of it. The three of us left stuffed and satisfied. Also, the restaurant is super cute. We drove from southern Oregon to eat here since it is the nearest Ethiopian restaurant, and it was well worth the trip. I will definitely be stopping by again next time I am in the area.

The ma and pa owners really care for their one of a kind cuisine and have very cozy seating. There's a quaint outdoor area with a stage too.
Ask for Kidanemariam or Paolos Eden.

Great food and nice environment. Authentic food served homestyle by hard working folks. Recommend the combination plate to share.
