I was on a work assignment up in Florence and heard this place had great fish and chips. It took me 2 days to get in, long lines, generally an hour wait if they weren't already booked out. When i finally got in, they sat me outside by the river. They were amazing views. The food arrived within 20min from ordering. First round was the Clam chowder, I make it a point to try this when i'm at water front establishments followed by the fish and chips. Food was top tier! Drinks were okay and a little on the pricey side. overall the food was worth the wait! Best clam chowder i have experienced along the Oregon coast.

20/10. Absolutely immaculate!
My husband and I were visiting Florence for the day and walked by the waterfront restaurant and grabbed one of their to go menus they keep outside.
We were planning on going to 1285 restobar for dinner-which we did. While sitting there I compared prices with my waterfront to go menu I grabbed and the 1285 restobar menu. I saw the variety of food options that waterfront bistro had to offer and made the decision to leave.
We got up before the waitress finally got to our table to order drinks and we left 1285 restobar and ran straight across the street for The waterfront bistro!
The waterfront took us in right away. They had no restaurant sitting but had plenty of seats at the bar.
It was the best decision we made! My husband got the duck breast and I got the seafood pasta which had more seafood than the restobar and it was also cheaper.
We will be back! The food and drinks were amazing and the price for this fine dining restaurant was awesome!
Thanks for the amazing service and food guys!

The crab encrusted halibut is the best ever.

The food is fine, but a little overpriced. The desserts were very dense, but the cream cheese frosting was well balanced. Overall the food is serviceable.
The main sticking point is the atmosphere. It is a small place and it was LOUD! I could hardly hear myself think. We were near the bar and one of the servers kept dropping things the whole time we were there. There are tall ceilings that reflect all of the sounds. There were maybe 40 people in the place, and I cannot impress upon you just how loud it was. I wouldn't make a special trip for this, but would eat hear again if someone else was paying.

Always do.
All time resturant favorite.
Everything is superb. I've tried 90% of the menu over 8 years.
A must experience. CALL FOR RESERVATIONS!

We ate Cajun pan fried oysters for the apatizer and for the main dish we had crab incrusted halibut with lobster sauce it was delicious. We had a nice experience.

It’s got a great atmosphere. A lot of people enjoy enjoying their meals a little bit on the loud side but not bad. The staff is great and make sure that you have what you need. I got the Parmesan chicken and it was fabulous. Can’t go wrong at this place.

Food and service was terrific! We scored a last minute reservation and had the Clam Chowder, Salmon Picatta, Crab Crusted Halibut, and Seafood Fettuccine. The chowder had a nice garlic flavor and was excellent. The sauces for the Picatta and the Halibut were both delicious.
Minor complaint is that the noise level was a little high, but it's worth it for the food and attentive service.

Food was unimpressive. Cold fries, nicely cooked halibut with chips, too many chips(fries). My husband had fish soup which was just okay, he had mostly broth when the lady next to us had tons of seafood and just enough broth. My dad had the fisherman's platter he said the fish was good thinly battered and super crunchy, his shrimp on the the overly breaded and mushy.
The crab mushrooms we had as an appetizer was just ok. The mushrooms were better than the crab. The best thing of the night....the amazing,in house made, bread.
Sorry but we won't be back. Our waitress was nice.
One last thing. The tables are put extremely close to the front door and too close to the bar. You either have cold wind going up your back or you have 2-3 butt's in your face from the bar people.

Great food...bad vibes...no one smiles....bartenders or waiters ...3 times in a row....won't go back
We got lucky and got in on a busy night without a reservation. The food was excellent, staff super nice and I loved my rice and edamame. I know, sounds super simple but oh my.. I thought about it the next day. Jesse aka Brandy aka Jason (long story) was our waiter. He was fun. Zoe was great and Kim was so nice and I think must walk 20 miles a night because she ran around so much. Everyone was so nice. It wasn't that we didn't get others names, they're just too darn busy because it's so popular! And I love my sweatshirt I bought. It's so soft! This place is a gem.
