This is a hidden gem, close 2 Pacific University. On the corner of 22nd n douglas. The food was excellant. Ur favorites with a little twist. I had the 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. So yummy n such comfort food this time of year. The atmosphere was quaint n rustic n modern all at the same time. Has a nice covered area outside that would b great 4 sitting having a beer n listening 2 a band. From time 2 time i understand that they do have a band. Go ck it out.

Fantastic place. Quiet location, but it's super close to downtown FG. The best grilled tuna I've ever had and a pretty damn good clam chowdah too!

Work around the corner and have driven by countless times hoping that one day they would open. Although I didn't make it opening day, I'm glad I finally stopped in. Great looking place, great food and great service. I hope others find this neat little hole in the wall in Forest Grove.

Where I went for lunch today is a local eatery that I can't "exactly" say is new. They had a food cart @ the end of my old neighborhood block on Elm street before the Pandemic hit. And they were excited to be going from just a food cart to an actual space to open up their excellent soup and sandwich restaurant. They are called "Simmer and Slurp Soup" @simmerandslurpsoup

They had bought the former popular restaurant space that was once "22nd Avenue Station", which itself, was such a great breakfast and lunch spot for many years. And then, the Pandemic hit.

To say that put a monkey wrench into their plans is an understatement. But they went on and totally upended this place and turned it into something pretty special, I have to admit. You can see and feel all the love and work they took reimagining this spot and making it their own.

This place is known for it's homemade soups and amazing sandwiches. And the portions are pretty generous. I had already eaten half of my sandwich before I had the sense to photograph it. I had a sandwich called "Veggies Are Gouda For You", with a side of "Pam's Potato Salad". I like that the bread they use come from local bakery, "Slowrise Bakehouse". They make some of the best bread.

I really like all the ample seating they have, both indoor and outdoor. And they have a very decent beer, wine and cider collection. Their prices are fair and the portions generous. And they have very friendly wait staff.

I also love that they kept the old caboose and train track from when this place used to be 22nd Ave. Station. It's electric and not in working order, yet. The track goes all around the whole area up above the walls around the ceiling. I hope when they get it fixed, it has a whole train attached to it, again, so it can circle up above the patrons heads like it used to.

Food was so good but prices were a bit out of control.

Also it was really hard to get the waitress to get us our to go options and our bill.
They had two large tables and the two waitresses focused on them.

They have games to play which is nice but it's not amazing to have the clanking behind you. Also a bit odd that a waitress drank wine then went back to work.

In the future I'll take it to go. Food is really good but be prepared for the price.

Vegetarian options: Grilled cheese, veggie sandwiches, vegetarian soup added to their daily choices.
