It's an odd place. The menu is fancy but it has a diner feel overlooking the bay. We had oysters on the half shell and steamer clams. Food was great. Service was great!

View was nice. Hostess was nice. Waitress was moving a million miles a minute and we felt rushed any time she came to our table. Felt like her stress was rubbing off on us a bit. Started with 4 oysters on the half shell, 1 of them looked suspect so we didn’t eat it. Oyster stew was weirdly sweet, tasted like corn, though there didn’t appear to be any in it. Clam chowder was decent, at best. Bread was warm, yet dry and crumbly. The garlic mashed potatoes were the only thing that made our entrees palatable. The cajun rockfish was shockingly bland for appearing to have seasoning on it. Swimming in a pool of oil. The almond crusted sole was as bad, if not worse. Had to spit out the asparagus cause it tasted so bad like dirty cooking oil. We should have called it quits there, but we decided to try our luck with dessert. The crust of the Marionberry cobbler had the consistency and taste of play-doh. The vanilla ice cream was the only saving grace.I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, but the food here was some of the worst I’ve ever had. I hope they can figure it out, cause aside from being outdated, the place has its charm and the view of the bay is nice.

Fantastic bayfront locale, great views. Store was slow midday for lunch, and service was slow too. Burger was huge, juicy, and cooked medium as requested. fries were hand-cut and great. Cheap smaller sized 'happy hour' cocktails worth the $5/ea. Prefer the house music volume to be slightly lower, but was not obnoxious.Great place to stop in if you are in the area.

Service was decent but the food was very bland and flavorless. Like the cooks never heard of salt and pepper. Over priced for what you get. I had the halibut and crab. My baked potatoes skin was as tough as leather and my halibut was bland and watery. Other people in my party ordered steak and it was undercooked and also flavorless. No seasonings whats so ever! If your going to charge 46 dollars + a plate than it should be seasoned properly and taste good. Would not recommend for anything other than breakfast food. Go to dairy queen or McDonald's the food will taste better.

You're going for the view. And it's worth going for the view. The hamburger was dry, small and borderline inedible. The seafood was okay, but we only got oyster shooters. It's kind of expensive for what you get, as are most restaurants with a view this good.If you're looking for a good meal, keep driving. If you want to check out the water, the view doesn't get much better.

When my wife and I arrived, the resturant only had two other tables occupied and two waitresses to serve us, so we thought the service would be good. We ordered the Oyster Stew, Salmon Caesar Salad with the dressing on the side, Blackened Rock Fish and a glass of Zinfandel. When the Oyster Stew arrived it looked to be a few days old. It was brownish-yellow and the oysters had been cooked so much they were reduced to small pieces and the soup had a mushy consistency. We have eaten at Pirates Cove regularity over the years, and have had the stew many times before. It has usually has been a favorite, but not tonight. This time we worried about whether it was safe to eat.About ten minutes after ordering dinner I asked the waitress if she had forgotten my wine. She had.About 10 minutes after I received my Rockfish the waitress asked my wife if she would like dessert. My wife explained she was waiting for her salad and maybe after that. It became evident that our waitress had forgotten to put the salad order in, and after another 10-15 minute wait, my wife received the salad with the dressing already mixed onto the lettuce. I told my wife that my fish was dry, and she asked me to try her already soft Caesar salad lettuce. At that point, I asked our waitress for a plate of plain romaine lettuce, no dressing, and she complied. After that, we didn’t see the waitress except to listen to her embarrassment about forgetting to bring a pen when taking our order. She rarely came out to check on us and we had to ask the other waitress to refill our waters. The meal was very expensive - $82.00. No reduction was offered. We have eaten at Pirates Cove many times and have never had such a bad experience. Honestly, it’s probably the worst dining experience we’ve EVER had, which is saying something as we are retired and enjoy eating out frequently.Pirates Cove just lost a customer.Awful experience.

Restaurant had a nice view of Tillamook bay, but the seats were a bit worn out. Service was good besides my cup of water not being filled towards the end. The steamed oysters were decent and pretty large overall. Bread was warm, but it was on the crumbly side. Chowder could use more flavor and it was on the watery side. The grilled halibut was the worse. Lacked any flavors and it tasted very bland like someone boiled it in water and then stuck it on a grill for the grill marks. I tried to save it by adding some salt, but it didn't work well. The garlic mashed potatoes were good and flavorful though so I ate them together. Otherwise, I don't know how I could have finished that halibut. Hopefully the other foods tasted better.
We went pretty late and missed the view but the inside was like a dungeon. Pretty outdated and uninviting. The drinks/food were pretty good just lacked presentation. The service was great and we appreciate it ??

Very, very bland food. Watery clam chowder, with no flavor. Worst I've had in years. Small portion sizes. Got the halibut fish and chips. Fish was so overcooked it was rubbery. Fries were greasy. The tarter sauce tasted like nothing I've ever had. The whole meal was awful. If we hadn't been so hungry we would've left after the first two bites. Won't be back. It was a waste of money. However, our waitress was wonderful. She was worth more than the $50 meal.

Been going to this joint for years and I don't think it's had a remodel in quite some time. Not sure why there is carpet in there but that needs to be torn out. It's just gross. The food is OK and the staff are super nice and Johnny on the spot. The view is amazing especially at sunset. So if it's warm enough to sit outside, you'll get fresh ocean spray air and a view worth a few photos. Would I eat there again? You bet.Parking: Not many spots at the building but there are spots a short walk down the
