Older lady was extremely rude and not welcoming. Too bad because I heard great things from local folks!

Great food! I would say probably one of the best places in Oregon to have breakfast at. You are expected to have a wait time of about 45 minutes from ordering to getting your food but it’s worth it. They probably could raise the prices because of the portions of the plates or keep the prices the same and minimize some portions of food. These plates are huge, tasty and in a sense pretty to look at. I would say they could place fly traps inside, hard to enjoy the food when flies are lingering around you. Overall, there’s no place like this for breakfast! We got French toast (4) and 2 omelettes and we only spent $52.50 including tip on a meal for 2, I think it’s better than most places.

The food was absolutely amazing. I had their burger and it was the most tastiest thing I’ve ever had in a long time. The lady there was hilarious and provided great service. Every time I go here this is where I’m eating.

I've never left a low review before, but unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience here yesterday. I’ve been a loyal customer of this diner for over four years—the food and overall atmosphere have always been great. However, when I came by to drop off a job application yesterday, I was met with an unwelcome response.

As I entered, one of the staff members (an older, shorter woman with grey hair in a bun) gave me a disapproving look from head to toe. I smiled and handed her my application, but instead of a polite acknowledgment, she immediately began criticizing my appearance. She told me she wouldn’t consider hiring me because of my facial piercings—specifically two small ones above my lip—and made several rude remarks such as, “The guests at this diner wouldn’t like looking at all that,” implying that my face was unpleasant to look at.

I was completely caught off guard and started tearing up from the shock. We were the only ones in the diner at the time, which might be why she felt comfortable speaking to me so harshly. I calmly shook her hand, said I understood, and began to leave. As I did, she started yelling at me—perhaps realizing she had come across too aggressively.

It was deeply hurtful to be judged so harshly at first glance. I’m a kind person and a hard worker, and it was upsetting to be dismissed based solely on my appearance. A simple, respectful explanation of a no-piercing policy would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead, I was made to feel ashamed and unwelcome.

I’ve always loved this diner, which makes this experience all the more disheartening. Sadly, I no longer feel comfortable returning—at least not while that staff member is present.

Food was top-notch, we will be stopping again, traditional old school diner food. Waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs, atmosphere was good but diner is a bit dated inside so could use some sprucing up.

We've eaten there twice. The food wasn't anything to rave over, though it's still good. Portion sizes were very generous. Wait times for food could be rather long, so I don't recommend if you're in a hurry

Great people, quaint place. Try the deep fried mushrooms... perfection!

5 stars isn't enough! The food was delicious and service was exceptional! I ate a screaming Angus cheeseburger, my husband got fried chicken and my daughter buffalo hot wings all meals came with fries. Each bite was flavorful the fries were fresh and homemade. The owner served everyone personally and was friendly, welcoming and very gracious and personal! Definitely a place to try and I will be bringing my family back! Oh best part for those who like breakfast for dinner... They serve breakfast all day!!!!

If you’re a fan of straight up, no nonsense American home cooking, this is your place. Huge portions, good food, no shi-shi fusion cooking in sight. Breakfast all day, and the best pancakes ever. Go!

I always like visiting the local cafe and diners and have been noticing the Screaming Chicken in Gaston for some time.

We went there for breakfast and, on a Friday, we were the only ones there. The wait staff was friendly which I always appreciate.

The place is a bit run down and the table tops were sticky. The coffee was not great, but I really enjoyed the hash browns and the homemade syrup is really, really good.... It's almost like a ice-cream topping.

The food cost was about what to expect these days.

Overall, I don't intend to go there again, but it was nice to try it out and maybe the chicken lunch and dinners are where this place is at.

Deb is amazing! Coffe hot, water on table, smile on her face.
When you have a large group, your food comes out over a 10 minute time span. Then, you're eating at different times or wait, and your food is cold. Bathrooms need extreme cleaning! Mold on door and walls. Used to love eating here.
