Great choice for a meal in a small coastal town. The staff was very personal and checked on us often to make sure we were doing well. It was apparent that the locals frequent this establishment. Our meals were very good and the atmosphere was fun.

Unfortunately they were closed at the time we visited due to a kitchen accident. However, the remaining employee was able to show great hospitality and guided us to a delicious restaurant down the road. I am extremely grateful for Russ' time and energy to help us find a great alternative. We will be sure to stop and eat next time we will be in town.

This was my first time there. I tried the clam chowder and the seafood tacos (I forget the real name of them). The clam chowder was pretty good...very rich and creamy, with many tiny clam pieces (but there was a lot of sand in some of those), and too many potatoes imo. The cream base was bland until I added salt and pepper, but then I enjoyed it. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 score (given others I have tried on the coast). The seafood tacos were quite filling. I liked the shells and there was a lot of seafood and lettuce in each. My complaint again would be that they were bland and it felt like they were missing something...maybe avocado? Maybe bacon? Maybe cilantro lime crema? Idk. But I honestly wished I had ordered something different instead, especially since they are not cheap.
And I loved my beer. The bill was around $50. So be prepared to spend a pretty penny if you get more than one item. I probably won't be back (I am not a local), but it sounds like they won't be open for the next 4 months anyhow...working on a remodel.

It's not easy to eat delicious food in a small town, but I got it. Although I waited for a long time, it was worth it because the boss was really busy and had to do a lot of things. I think it might not be easy to recruit employees in a small town, so it's understandable.

The Wildflower Inn recommended this place and they did not disappoint. They were swamped the night we were there but the owners had a sense of humor and a sense of urgency to get people served as quickly as possible. Great food and a good evening.
This place had excellent food. My wife and I both had the clam chowder. I thought it was the best. I had the curry mussels and my wife had the tuna sandwich. They were both excellent. Highly recommend Barnacle Bistro.

Exceptional food, fantastic flavors. Best chowder I have ever had and I have tried it from Kodiak to Monterey. Coconut/ Lime Mussels, fish/ shrimp tacos, crab cakes all the very best quality and flavor. You won't want to miss the opportunity to eat here. Little light on volume of food, you had to buy all sides, so you purchase and entry then side dishes as well. Kind of expensive for the volume of food.
